    Thank you, very nice review 👍 I'm actually on the market looking for my new ride. I tried to choose between the new 2024 Africa Twin Adventure Sport DCT with 19" front wheel and lower suspension, which supposed to change that heavy filling(top heavy filling) of the bike. Unfortunately I still didn't ride it because all Honda dealers around me don't have this bike in stock yet. My second choice is, maybe go for a little smaller and lighter bike 2024 Tiger 900 Rally Pro. I tried that bike and I really liked it. Very lively and nibble, but smaller, less wind protection, and I didn't know how it will be for the riding longer journeys. What will be your suggestion? You said in the video that you wouldn't buy AT again. So what would you buy as the next bike?

      Hi, thank you for the comment and the question. It is hard to recommend anything as there is so many variables to consider. However, I, myself, would not buy the new 24 ATAS DCT- 20000 euros for 253 kg empty weight and only electronic suspension option. I would buy either Transalp or base AT (I am a Honda person, sorry). Transalp is almost as powerful as AT, less weight (208 kg dry), 21 inch front wheel, very well priced, but with less options, maybe not as good looking bike as AT or Tiger 900 and no DCT. Base AT is good size bike, looks great, good to ride, has MT and DCT option as well as electronic suspension option, but more weight and almost 1,5 times more expensive than Transalp. I have no experience with Triumph motorcycles but Tiger 900 is expencive as well, but more premium looking bike than Hondas and wet weight of 228 kg is ot bad at all. If you are interested in bikes with automatic gearboxes, then look for BMW, KTM and Yamaha as all of them have automatic gearbox option coming out soon. It might also be an option to buy second hand bikes with low milage or make test rides at used motorbikes dealers with the bikes you want to dry out. I recommend that first test ride all the bikes if possible and then decide. I think that most important is to find a bike, which can do, what you want it to do, is ergonomically good fit to you and that you, yourself, actually like the bike.

      Hello thank you for the question. These are very good comfortable gloves. However I would not recomend these for riding in the rain. After two-three years of riding, the inner lining comes loose and sticks to your hands. Then if you remove the gloves it is very hard to get them back on as the liner is messed up. Otherwise very good gloves, I still use them but not in the rain.

    I have size M. I am 5'11/6.00, inseam 32.7/33, waist 37. M is snug and too short by 2-3" when seated on the bike, but L is too large as knee protection too easily twist and not really longer than the M. Pro: confort, sleak look. Cons: vent opening totally useless, missing a kind of loop at bottom to secure pant to the boot to prevent going up. Thermal liner so-so, as pant is pretty warm and do not vent well

  • @loloverland
    @loloverland Před 9 měsíci

    I have a L size, I am 5"11/6.00, chest 42.5, size allows without liner to wear a t-shirt, a thermal jacket, an airbag and stay confortable. Pro: construction, material, waterproofness, comfort. Cons: no back pocket, no pocket on left sleeve, really annoying snap buttons on sleeves instead of velcro, almost impossible to adjust while riding. Vent opening sliders in front impossible to manipulate with gloves. Collar system do not stay closed, magnet is a joke, snap button is annoying to close and might pop. Thermal liner is so-so and should be replaced by a primaloft kind of light jacket.

    Hello, your jacket size is L and your height is 180cm, what is the size of your pants?

  • @loloverland
    @loloverland Před 10 měsíci

    Thank you for the video and review. Does the openings in the sleeves vent well if left full open? And do they remain open when you ride?

    • @Lionsoftarmac
      @Lionsoftarmac Před 10 měsíci

      Hello and thank you for the question. The vents on the sleeve work OK in my opinion. Under the mesh fabric of the vent, there is layer of polyester fabric and therefore it is hard to say how well the vent works as there is no feeling of air movement in the sleeve. However, I have never had a situation where my arms are hot or sweating. If the vent is opened, then it stays open as the vent panel has a V shape and the zipper can not close by itself against the larger end of the vent and also the zipper is water resistant type with rubberized sides, so it can not close by itself. If the vent is fully open and the sleeve tightness adjuster on the upper part of the sleeve is adjusted tight then there is less venting, if loose, then more venting.

    Very thorough review. Just one question:: Are you 100% dry when you ride in the rain?

    • @Lionsoftarmac
      @Lionsoftarmac Před rokem

      Hi, thank you for the question. So far I have been dry underneath. But the thing is that when the rain is very strong and the gear is really wet, I feel the cold through the gear as a wind chill. So I find myself still wearing the rain covers when it poors down or when I know that I have to ride long time in the rain, just to be more warm. Otherwise so far no problems and shorter periods of rain are ok to ride- the gear is not absorbing so much water (laminated) as traditional multi layer garments.

    How is the sizing on these boots are they true to size?

    • @Lionsoftarmac
      @Lionsoftarmac Před rokem

      Hello and thank you for the question. The sizing is good- my foot is EU size 45 and 29 cm long and Gaerne boot size chart says the same 29 cm is size 45. The boot fits well. With thicker socks it is on the tight side but nothing serious. I recomend to use the Gaerne boots size table, dont belive the size tables in the internet shops. If possible try on the boots before you buy. You can find the size table from here: www.gaerne.com/boots/en/articolo/5/151/341/2529-001/black/

    Thank you for the overview. I wonder if there is any stretch in the pants other than the accordion panel at the back? Also, do you think these would fit over motocross style boots? They look reasonably wide at the bottom.

    • @Lionsoftarmac
      @Lionsoftarmac Před rokem

      Thank you for the comment and the question. There is no other stretch in the pants other then the accordion panel on the back. The pants might fit over the motorcross boots- motocross boots are higher than adventure boots, so this might be a problem (trouser leg expanding zipper is 31 cm long and if boots are longer and bulky they might not fit or fit too tight in the trouser legs and restrict the movement). I use Gaerne Dakar adventure boots and there is little bit more loose space in the pance if the zipper is closed at the trouser ends, but not much. If it helps you, then I measured the trouser leg diameter- if zipper is closed, then it is about 15-16 cm, if zipper is opened, then it is 20-21 cm. If possible try the pants with your boots. If you can not try them in the store, then some internet stores let you return or change the item if the size does not fit, but ask before, so that there would not be any problems with returns later.

    Thank you for your review. Did you use it in summer time? Over 30 C without termal liner does the vents do the job?

    • @Lionsoftarmac
      @Lionsoftarmac Před rokem

      Hello, thank you for the question. For me personally if the temperature is above 20 C, I take the thermal liner out. 25 C and above vents open and it is OK to ride. I have no experience above 30 C.

    Thanks for this video. I just watched them in store yesterday 😊 How do You feel in this pants in the hot weather in summer? Are the breathable enough?

    • @Lionsoftarmac
      @Lionsoftarmac Před rokem

      Hello, thank you for the comment. The pants have no exhaust vents, so air movement is limited when sitting in the saddle. Therefore in the hot weather the area around the bum gets a bit hot but nothing too serious. If you ride standing up, then the pants are somewhat ventilated through the mesh panel at the pants and jacket zipper. It also helps to loosen the pants around the boots and ride without the thermal insert. I always wear breathable base layer and it is not that bad to be honest. I have never had a moment in hot weather where I have thought about riding in other trousers. I have used these pants at 25-28 C.

      This comment is very useful regarding the temperature range. I was worried as the ventilation zips are small. Could I just ask at what temperature do you open the leg vents please
