Marvel is so much richer and more interesting than its "divine competition" that it hurts. I guess this has something to do with how much Marvel respects its own history, its own continuity since day 1 (which means Fantastic Four 01 in practical terms). It's a long history of evolving characters which, if you have enough patience, you can follow each and every step of and get a coherent story with a beginning, a middle and no end in sight. Contrariwise to what you will find in that absolute mess called DC. Ok, writers many a time "rewrite" history in Marvel to fit this or that storyline- which is unavoidable to shake things up and keep the books interesting. But it is always refreshing to see how, despite many errors commited in these long 63 years, Marvel story is still a continuing saga starting in Fantastic Four 01 back in december 1961. Continuity is really the secret of my permanent interest in Marvel. Except for Batman, I gave up on DC a long time ago.

I like how in Battlefield Earth relatively primitive humans learn to fly Harrier jets just by using simulators .

I have seen many movies worse than Battlefield Earth. Everyone hates it but nobody can really tell me what's so horrible about it. For me it was kinda boring, 4/10. Still much better than Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? I got maybe 10 minutes in and gave up. It's just people screaming at each other. But critics were told to love it, so they do. Actually more along the lines of BE was Jupiter Ascending. That was horrible but at least I watched the whole thing, unlike WAOVW? I just watched Plan 9 from Outer Space the other day. Actually not that bad for the time, maybe a 3/10. Still I watched the whole thing.

What people didn't realize at the time for both movies 'Showgirls' and 'The Room' is that they eventually became cult classics...because they are so bad it's so good.
