I cut a sheer curtain to the right size to strain my yogurt and then I've found my fav thing to add is a can of diced mango and strawberry jam, so yummy. I also bought some 6oz Babymoov babybols, the lids screw on and they are the perfect size for yogurt. I just put them in the frig and let my grandkids have free rein to them. thnx for sharing.

Hi Kim! I love Jesus too! Using skim milk, it seems to make less yogurt, but full fat milk may give you more. I usually get 1/2 gallon plus of strained thick Greek yogurt from a gallon of skim milk, but then I use the leftover whey in cooking, breads, oatmeal, etc. Some people add dry powdered milk to their mix before incubating to increase volume (less whey). They were made about 1.5 hours from us. Mexico NY. THEY WERE A staple for many.
Awesome that you made these, but why would you think they are a New England thing? It was a NY based company that sold to the entire north east of the country.
Forgive me, but I loosely consider the North East New England. I was raised in Troy/Albany area of New York and understood they were made in NY. Thanks for watching!
I love grandma brown's but since COVID they wet out of business. Thank you for trying this recipe for all of us who miss them.
The owner shut down, and claims she can't find workers. From rumors I've heard, she won't hire anyone that isn't white, and paid basic poverty spec wages.

When the Navy beans are soft and tender and soon to be placed in the oven, add 1/8 cup finely diced sweet onion, a tablespoon of molasses syrup, 1/8 cup ketchup, and 2 teaspoons of yellow mustard. Placed lightly fried bacon as in barely browned (not crispy) 12 to 16 soft bacon strips cut in half and stirred in during the last 30 minutes of baking and covered as do not want hard, crunchy, well-done bacon. The alternative to bacon is 1 cup of small diced pieces of ham. 1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar is always a must. Do not use Basil Bay leaf as it will make you puke and no bacon grease. The Crock Pot method does not work.

What setting do you use in the crock pot?
Low for 2-1/2 hours, then turn off and cool for 3 hours. Stir in 1/2-1 cup of room-temperature yogurt culture, then cover with towel and let sit 9-12 hours WITH NO HEAT. If your crockpot is true to temp, it should be at the right temp to make yogurt with the reserved heat.

Sounds great but what do I do, make the casseroles, then do not bake them but instead just cover with wrap and freeze? I don't know if I can do that with out my casseroles becoming soggy messes. Any advice

I am not sure what you are referring to regarding too much sugar because I use 0 sugar in this recipe, and even the added yogurt culture has 0 sugar (fat free plain Greek Yogurt culture) Perhaps you are referring to sweetened yogurt from the grocery stores, and if that is the case, I agree!
