rock and roll hall of fame 2013 Rush´s induction
So many great songs. But Tom Sawyer is one of those powerful songs that just shut you up
Rush is a legend now after all these years! An incredible band 👏
Strange that Dave grohl is the most friendly rock star on planet ,nirvana was the most anti social band towards other bands
When did Rush become cool? They’ve ALWAYS been cool. It’s just that it took most of the world 40 years to figure it out.
I noticed 😅
By a mile the best inductee speech . I revisit this often
In 1980, i was 16. I had just got a walkman, with custom, improved headphones. I went to the music store in Sarasota, and asked the guy what tapes i should buy. He suggested REO high infidelity and Rush's exit stage left. This was during the street skating craze at night, in downtown Sarasota and Marina jack. I wore Rush's tape out!
Elvis did my Brakes. back in 89.
I love my Canadian Brothers
Neil looks like Tom hanks
What the HELL happened to REAL music?!?!?!?
@5:30 Dave grohl wrote Taylor’s part of the speech also
Dave Grohl did a fabulous job delivering this speech. He honored Rush and their fans eloquently and passionately. Well done!
I watch this video speech every so often. Each and every time I get goosebumpsrush!! Rush rocks!!
David G is a tool.
You’re a tool
Taylor on that strong stuff here
So they could have been inducted in the 90s or the 00s, but it took until 2013? JFC, it's so unbelievable to humiliate heros like these guys by making them wait so long. Wenner was a peon. Rolling Stone were pompous idiots on several music counts.
colbert was great
RusH was composed of 3 compulsive perfectionist, and genuine good people that do not have any ego trips that have lead to the demise of many successful bands. Truly GREAT musicians that are also truly great friends.... Resulting in some of the cleanest, tightest most amazing music ever made.
A three piece band that would blow your face off. Precision playing.
My favorite band. They just knew how to write music that speaks to people, and is so so incredibly great! RIP Neil
Druggy dopers opinions are worthless
RIP The Professor
Ah....Dave bringing up Satan again.....figures
So tired of Grohl forcing himself on far superior musicians..
"Satan" didn't knock on Robert Johnson's door, he knocked on his back in the middle of the night at the crossroads.
RUSH should have their OWN PALACE! The coolest band on earth!
What a poetic indictment.
This is the best intro speech to RRHF ever!
Part Roast, All Respect. This is how you get true fans to honor a band. Geddy was heartbroken when both of those fantastic drummers on the stage with him that night passed. It is true class to have the band you idolize love you back.
I’m sure Alex gave a nice heartwarming speech after this 😆
When I was 18 or so I got "Fly by Night" on some whim or someone's hint. When I first put it on the turntable and heard Geddy's high-pitched shrieking voice I was kinda - what the hell?!? Five minutes in I was a rabid fan for life, and I'm 67 now.
This made me cry......I miss my teacher....
Taylor and Neil aren't with us anymore :(
First ever album ever gifted to me by my dad was 2112 ❤
For me, the greatest albums of the decades whilst Rush were active are: 70's Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd (2112 and Hemispheres are joint 2nd) 80's Moving Pictures (Signals and P/G are 2nd & 3rd respectively) 90's Rust In Peace - Megadeth (Counterparts is 2nd) 00's Absolution - Muse (Snakes & Arrows is 2nd) 10's Clockwork Angels Which leaves me wondering... how did it take until 2013 to get "indicted"?
8:08 god I miss Taylor he was so funny😭
Two pro vaccers enough said a pair of cu🇬🇧ts
It's nice Neil was alive to finally accept this long overdue award, woulda been nauseating if they missed it.
By far the loudest applause for a Rock Hall induction
The world lost a huge influence on rock n roll and along with air drummers like myself. We didn't lose just probably the best drummer of all time, but we lost one of the best bands of all time. Thank you all for 40 years you gave us! First time I heard Rush I knew I wanted to study rock and roll. And that was because of Rush. So, I thank you 3 for everything that you gave us! Long live Rush!
Canada pride at its best
Rush built the rhythm of great sounds coming out of any of my stereo systems. It doesn’t matter how loud or low, it just sounds fcuking awesome. Limelight is perfect.
Why do I cry every-time I watch this? 😭
Limelight was the perfect piece to open with. It sums up all of them but especially Neil, powerful, chaotic and yet deeply shy
I'm so glad I caught them 6 times before they retired... I really don't have the words to say how I feel about these guys.
Hilarious Dave & RIP Taylor Hawkins
You absolutely, positively, can NOT listen to Tom Sawyer with out air drumming!!!
My husband and I met in a bar in SF. We were both in the Navy, aboard the same ship. We started talking, and he asked what kind of music I liked. I rattled off the usual, KISS, Zeppelin, Sabbath...and Rush. His eyes lit up and he said, 'Rush is my favorite band.". 36 years, two kids and two grandkids later, I finally conceded to one ongoing debate: yes okay, fine...Neil Part is better than John Bonham, are you happy?
Why, when you mention the Rush to someone that means you love them ... the greatest
