ive been trying to avoid learning how to do this in iclone for a long time because i could not be bothered, but for my latest youtube short i had no choice to do it if i wanted to get the video to look the way i wanted because i wanted to switch to orbit cameras. i am definitely going to take advantage of this often now that i know how to do it. thanks for the tutorial

animation created in Cartoon Animator looks cheap and doesn't look natural. It is true it is easy just drag and drop but not satisfying feels you still did not create anything at all.

OMG Thank you so MUCH! I've known for a while that I appreciate 2D animation so, so, so much that I want to become a 2d animator - preferably for games. Of course I know that 3D is the most prevalant in gaming as well as TV and film, unless it's anime, but 2D games do exist; they're just rarer. Just before I watched your video, I was feeling anxious again and I was on the brink of paniking at the thought of dropping what I want for 3D. Your video calmed me right down and I can't thank you enough for that. I have some experience in the past with Maya, so thanks to you, I now know I can just revisit it later, when the time comes. <3 Thank you, once again!

The 'best' animation software is the one that does the job you want to do in a way that is fast, fun and easy. Having used all the different 2D animation on the market over many many years, for me, that is Cartoon Animator.

It would be more interesting if you use more visuals and scenes just only talking can be boring

I own Blender, Maya,Cinema4D R26, Iclone 7and Daz studio Maya Indie only costs $300 per year if your income is less than $100,000 USD and has the best Character animation tools for industry work. Daz studio does not have a working IK system and is useless for complex Character animation. Blender will run on a CPU only system (with slower render speeds in Cycles) and has the best Character animation tools other than Maya. Iclone 8 basically requires a recent model NIVIDIA GPU or you will be locked out of Global illumination, and the Accuface system and omniverse render engine. Cinema4D is great 3D motion graphics but have terrible character animation tools an way overpriced as well. Unreal engine has terrible character animation tools and depends on motion data and props& sets imported from outside sources such as Maya,Blender or Iclone.

I think grease pencil should also be an contender

Daz studio is good for rendering. Theres paid stuff but you can also get lots of free stuffs too but still if you need something for game development then daz studio is probably a bad option because the characters have such a high poly count so unless you want to make a game with a few characters, Its gonna be a pain when it comes to finding methods to lowering the polycount, exporting, fixing textures etc.

Eon, you are doing a great job, and i plan to settle in SA from middle east soon.. ive been trying to use all the softwares you did and spokeabout. but all for practice and hobby cases. my kid works on toonboom and its realy hard to find tutorials for it.. i'll keep on hunting for tutorials, thanks

Thanks for this. I tried to go from a basic genesis 8 character with dirt on her body. Tried baking the textures and when importing the textures are not on the body properly :(

Daz studio is a giant money sink hole, its become the new iPhone, every year new model/ phone, all your old shit isnt compatible with the new model. Iclone and CC8 isnt much better. The best thing you can do if you are absolutely serious about making animation or comics is learn Maya, zbrush, Photoshop and 3D max

All of these are to reliant on software, instead learn to become a real animator with AMB animation. Focus on the work not on the software.
