Still one of my favorite night rides ever thanks to the sudden snow storm mid ride

Bought it used without an hour meter. I’ve been riding it 3 years really hard 2-4 times a month from track to trail and lots of big camping riding trips here in Colorado and the dunes where we rode 5 hrs a day for 3-5 days. So it had hundreds of hours or riding from just me alone just waiting for Partzilla to ship all my new transmission bearings so i can start putting it back together. Hopefully they ship it quickly because the first dune trip is at end of May.

Yes sometimes, there’s two seals in the shaft and if the inner one fails it will allow water and oil to mix. If you see drips out of the weep hole one the bottom the outer seal failed if it’s in the oil both seal failed. Always replace the shaft even if it looks fine or you will start leaking aging quickly.

Yeah they definitely can be, we have lots of 50in and under trails so Just depends on where you are. Lots of places we ride we use 3-5gear hitting small trial jumps and stuff. But Rampart Range is very tight and technical almost every where so any mistake and your off and down the mountain or in a tree.

For the price I’m happy, yea they do loosen up a bit but i also wear them a lot and prefer a stiffer boot. I’m known to wear them on a 3-4 hr ride and then walk around camp in them for an hour or two incase we ride more. I got very use to riding boots and I never ride without them now but after 3 years or hard riding every week the top two strap final broke on each boot but I’m pretty sure you can buy replacements online and just a tiny bit of the paint or vinyl down in the creases under the straps where you ankle bends is starting to flake off and lose color but it’s not torn or leaking or anything. If you never rode in boots it’s a big adjustment no matter the brand but after big rocks or sticks hit them and save your feet and legs it won’t matter. Plus standing and hitting big jumps and bumps the boots make it much nicer on your feet.

It’s the front section at Rainbow, it’s 50in and under as soon as you drive over the cattle guard on to rainbow falls rd not 50ft it’s on your left right next to the road.

No I don’t think it has to come off it was just more room to get the case out and more light for the camera. Plus I knew my exhaust would come right off and wasn’t seized on as Id had it off recently to wrap it.

No i haven’t done any, might give it a try one day.

Yeah we are from the east coast near the ocean as well and after a few trips in one year out here we had to move. Riding is amazing and we are so close to so many other areas like the desert and parks like Yellowstone.

What trail number is this

Has a great view of the front Range and pikes peak in the background. It also has several dirt bike tracks and a rock crawling area but it’s not very big when you consider you have the Rocky Mountains to to crawl on instead but the MX track is the only quad friendly one around here.

Yeah it’s pretty fun , some of the jumps are a little to small for the speed of the straights. But it’s good to just ride a relaxed pace and still be able to hit all the jumps. They also have a whole off road area where you can just play around and rock crawl or do wheelies and what not.

Yeah definitely not, I bought the bike blown up for cheap so I was hoping to put just a top end on it but wasn’t that lucky this time.

Thanks, if I hadn’t slid off the following jump on my shoulder and hip I’d only have had a few small scrapes but flying off the following jump and getting air time hurt the most lol.

Sorry I’m slow, I can’t recall exactly but I believe the open side where you can see the spring faces in towards the engine. I put them back the way mine came out I know that much lol.

Yeah that’s exactly what it was, tore the cover down and replaced them all not long ago. I also have a video of the work as well.

Yeah it’s not that bad really, tons of trails that aren’t very rocky at all. But some areas are packed and over the annual amount of snow and others not so much this winter so it depends where you go. Lots of 3-4 gear trails to let it rip on and have a blast.

Thanks, yeah I’ve never gone in any kind of deep water with them just splashed water on them from puddles and creeks and some snow riding covered them in snow but my feet never got wet from those instances.

@@robertaikema3241 these are just winter hiking boots off Amazon not to expensive or anything so water proof and decent insulation. When we do snow rides and it’s very cold or very deep I wear my winter boots usually. Mainly because my feet stay a little warmer than my riding boots and we can’t go as fast in the snow so I don’t worry as much about a high speed crash or landing from big jumps. But I wear my O’Neal riding boots in the snow 80% of the time or if we are riding someplace fast in the snow like my rainbow falls snow rides I’m wearing my riding boots because we go fast there even in deep snow we can go 3-4 gear on some trails.

2005, yeah the deeper snow slows me down some for sure. The taller the rear tire the better you’ll do. I’m 20 inch tall rear tires and lots of guys run 22 inch out here in the winter or just year round.

Yeah we have fun all year out here, once we moved here I was hooked and wouldn’t want to live any where else now.
