    I purchased a used one as the piece is a bit pricey, but the machine czcams.com/users/postUgkxG6fbm3cHBd7CNTjk5D-dwYe9c9tCB9ZN has surpassed my expectations. We sand small parts by hand often, sized around 1"x1/2," and specifically look for a piece that's designed to be vertical. The motor has plenty of torque and great speed settings. The only inconvenience I had is that the disk measures 5" where we trim 6" stick-and-sand disks down easily by mounting it then cutting with a box cutter.

  • @NumberSixAtTheVillage

    Isn't it going to rub off, when it's cleaned with a harsh kitchen spray or something, even dish detergent, or on to people's clothing, etc? Since it's just a compound/polish? I feel, like a car, that table would be totally cloudy again in a couple months, but unevenly of course, and look terrible.?? Am I wrong? peace *I actually have your 3 stage auto product right now. I was thinking about using it on a table, but I can't get past what I just described above. I see respectable makers use polish compounds, but Idk, I see a lot of things, lol. .. yep... mis-understanding what cutting polish compounds and cutting disks do. They actually cut the paint/epoxy at a super fine grit, technically you are removing, not adding. Coming from car paint world with clear coat 2ks; its basically the same exact process.

  • @zachkahn7632
    @zachkahn7632 Před rokem

    For deep pour it's much better and saves you time by pouring over the 1st layer while it is hard but still tacky, as long as there are no imperfections. The layers will bond if you don't let it completely harden. If you let it fully harden you will now require sanding. Be smart, get the bubbles out before the epoxy cures and save yourself time and $ (sand paper) and do the next pour before things fully harden.

I am wanting to do a second pour on corn hole boards I made due to there being some very shallow areas one some of the ends. The rest of the boards look great though so I do not want to have to use more product than needed. I read somewhere the only way to do this safely/correctly is to add heat to the resin and hardener before mixing. Any ideas appreciated!

      The bottles should definitely be warmed prior. You can also sand the surface before adding a flood coat to make sure you get an even layer.

      You can add various solvents. Might depend on the brand but I haven't seen so yet. I added isopropyl to make it "paintable", and while it's not a huge deal in many cases, you'll probably want the highest % to avoid excess water from the ISO

    Does a similar process work for deep pour? I have a 15 gallon pour I need to do. Your instructions suggest no more than 5 gallons at 1" at a time. I will obviously have multiple pours to reach the 2 1/4" thickness. Do i have to wait until the pour is fully cured (7 days) to pour send layer?

    • @incrediblesolutions296
      @incrediblesolutions296 Před 2 lety

      Hi Eric! For the deep pour it doesn't have to be fully cured to pour subsequent layers. It can still bee tacky so you can pour additional layers in 48 hours.

    • @zachkahn7632
      @zachkahn7632 Před rokem

      Do not wait between pours to harden. This video is a little misleading and will cost you more time and sand paper. Pour over 1st layer when hardened, but still tacky. Also don't pour too much at once. May cure too fast and warp the mold/table. Speaking from experience.

  • @davids1681
    @davids1681 Před 2 lety

    Of the few videos on this subject I've seen thus far, there seems to be an obsession with using IPA to wipe down between coats. Even if it weren't for shortages of alcohol currently, wouldn't this be better achieved simply by dust-removal with vacuum and brush attachment?

    • @washyrose5904
      @washyrose5904 Před 2 lety

      No, IPA lifts up the epoxy dust and whatever it doesn’t lift up it absorbs into the dust, breaks it down, and evaporates it. You will still have residue if you vacuum and your final product will end up cloudy. If you try top coating that way, you will have a layer of cloudy residue and need to sand passed that layer to gain shine back.

    • @davids1681
      @davids1681 Před 2 lety

      @@washyrose5904 hmmm...one might have success in lifting away fine dust with /any/ wet medium, whether it's soapwater followed by a rinse, or lacquer thinner. It's just a means to stick the dust to a wipe. The trick with any such method is to use a vast amount of towels so as not to just spread the dust around, and personally I don't see enough benefit to doing this. IPA certainly isn't capable of breaking down epoxy dust, any more than it can break down cured epoxy (there's no solvent anyone would want to use that could do so.) Compressed-air-nozzle used in a dust-extracting environment (as simple as blowing a fan across the work surface) is my go-to method.
