the scene is wrong. what actually happened was, when the weapon malfunctioned, Heindreich immediately fumbled for his gun, but he couldn't get it out of the holster. so the grenade he had in his bag was what he intended to throw at the enemy. but suddenly the skin disease on his butt itched so badly that he suddenly scratched it. that's when he dropped the grenade and exploded. that is, Jan Kubis was not the hero but the fungus that bit Heindriech's ass. Kudos to the fungus. deserve a monument actually.
