Just a suggestion for the pigeons, maybe if you put a bird bath and a bird table in a different part of the garden away from the pond they would go there instead of pond. Gwen 🧓 new subscriber .

Use braided fishing line and tension it.

The pigeons do my head in too, I’ve got the neighbourhood cat now that likes to come for a drink, gonna have to net the pond I think 👍🏼👌🏼

Good idea with the fishing line. I have same problems with pigeons I am thinking of getting one of the eagle kites. As my owl I have with the moving head doesn’t work. Great update.

I think the only real issue with multi-bay filters (at least to me) is the size. They work well but are so large. Good idea with the fishing line. Hopefully it will keep the pigeons and other birds away. My go to for my pond is an electric fence. Not as unobtrusive as the fishing line but is definitely a deterrent when it comes to any critters, winged or otherwise. 👍🏻

Nice modification mate get water iris and mind you're own business or water celery, water hibiscus and lots of others to choose from 👍

I used to have a more natural pond and had a green and red pond plant that used to grow bonkers. Can't remember the name but I am pond shop would them.

Mint grows really well in water pal, I just bought 2 plants from Tesco and it tripled in size with a few weeks

Prune your acer back to best good leaves. A good water and leave in shade to recover for a good few weeks and they will look as good as new.

It looks better and it's definitely not a trickle tower anymore. That water must be crashing down over your media. As for the landlord that sucks can you not get a 5% deposit mortgage and buy it off them ? It might be cheaper than renting, looks like a tidy little house 👌

Saying it's a death can because it retains all the crud grim your pond. That's it's function, all filters sole purpose is to hold on to the crap so it's not in suspension in your pond water. I don't understand how it doing it's job means you criticise it. That's the same as being angry at your cars oil or air filter when it's collected all the chunks , that's it's job.

I use two pressure filters running in parallel feeding a one meter, three tier Bakki shower for my 1000 gallon koi pond. The water parameters are all good and the koi are healthy and growing fast. I agree that cleaning the pressure filters is a pain but as long as they are cleaned regularly then I have no problems. I used to run the pond with just the pressure filters but now use them as mechanical filters for the Bakki shower. This made a huge difference to maintaining the water quality.

I use one as a pre filter to a shower, flush it most days and clean out once a month, is OK for my little pond.

That Midnight is a nice looking fish Kumonryu are definitely one of my favourite variegates of koi. New Intex pond seemed to work well. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Good idea on using the small vat to hold a few fish while awaiting their turn to be checked over and not stressing out the entire pond over and over. 👍🏻
