I am REALLY bad at keeping plants alive. I killed a cactus by forgetting to water it once...
In my last video I asked you for ideas related to the prompt "plants". And you all absolutely delivered!
These plant babies sit in the soil of your potted plants and cry like a real baby when they need water (reminding you not to kill them)!

Wow I bet making this product was so much work, let alone making the youtube video after, i just had a similiar idea of this and I asked chatGPT to do market research to see if anyone had done anything similair before and that's how i wound up here

I actually found your video because I have a 9 year old Harry Potter fan. Because of that, I've started watching the movies to learn about them so I can relate. I have a home FULL of smart devices and rule engines that trigger based on patterns (from us). I was wondering if I could work a wand for her (and maybe one for me) into all of that. Then poof....there was your video as the first search result. Thanks for all the info!! I'm not sure if I can work bluetooth into the equation, but I'm definetly going to research it and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the inspiration and showing that it is possible. We moved away from Nashville in 2019 after being there for 22 years. I wish I was still there so I could see your work in action! :)

For some reason I was thinking on a kind of magic wand hat had this lumos/lumos maxima feature coming from a LED, and ended up here. That was awesome, man, congrats!!
How big is the board? I need to know if it will fit on my CNC router machine. I was going to download the file but don't know what a .step file is. I'm only familiar with .Crv and svg files. Thank you.

Hi Sam, this is awesome!!! I’m curious why you favor CNC milling housings instead of 3D Printing them? The only clear advantage I can think of is being able to tap the plastic. Curious to hear your response.
Thanks Luke! The lame answer is that my 3D printer is tiny… I can only print 3.5” diameter objects. Maybe one day I’ll pick up an Ender or something and I’ll print more stuff

How does it know what number the hex is?
When the board first comes it randomly generates what each hex is (number and commodity wise). Then it counts up from 2-12 showing you the spots so you can place your number tokens on the correct hexes. That way when you roll the dice, it randomly picks a number (properly distributed) and highlights the right hex!
@@SamMarch nice. That works. You could also use 7-segment displays to randomize and display the numbers automatically
@@corynrobinson definitely a possibility! I was trying to keep cost down a bit. More importantly though, the whole thing was designed in one day, so certain really cool ideas missed the initial design phase entirely 😂
