What was your budget mate for this?
Hey there, It was our first time to Falls. Definitely not the cheapest place to stay but we can’t exactly remember costs because we purchased it all pre covid and had it cancelled a few times before we actually went. It was beautiful!
Awesome episode guys. Such beautiful places that you visited. Definitely going up there.
It’s pretty magic! Especially the OTT section.. rooftop camper would be the ideal for the Cape through that section!
Always love watching your family and the adventures and places that you go. They are so interesting. Just a question while you're up North there. How do you know which waters that you can swim in safely without Confronting crocs? I always love your adventures. I just wish that there are more of them! Please be safe until next time.
Hi Jack :) thanks again for supporting and coming along on our travels, there will be plenty more to come! So I guess really, north Australia is their territory… there are no safe swimming places as far as we saw… always assume they might be there! The freshwater crocs are not dangerous, unless cornered or maybe you jump on them I suppose, but unfortunately with the flooding the saltwater crocs move into areas that they normally wouldn’t inhabit, so you never can really tell.. the river where we sent the kids in first however, was very high above the lower section of river and impassable to a saltwater croc to come upstream or around. So we all felt safe to swim there :) see you on the next leg of the trip Jack!
Apologies if i missed it in the vid but what length is your van? Ta :)
G’day there! Not sure if we did drop that! 😬 thank you! It’s 22ft 👍
What a beautiful family you have makes me proud to be Australian ❤
😥 Ow thank you! Very kind. 😀What a beautiful country we call home! 🇦🇺
Lovely ep and spots guys
Thanks legend! :))
So good thanks for sharing this. I'll be there in June on site 15 and the whale shark dive. Just wondering with accessing winderbandi did you enter via yardee Creek? Thanks again
Hey mate! Thanks for feedback! It’s seriously a magic spot. We entered the southern side and exited yardi creek. The Yardi section is in the first couple of minutes of our video titled Exmouth Eclipse. 👍
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOTS THANKYOU FOR TAKING US WITH YOU GUYS CAN'T WAIT FOR NUMBER 3
Legend!! Thanks for following along! ❤️
Interesting wow you guys are crazy! But I love every minute of it. A beautiful part of the country that you live in. The town that you were in right at the end of the video. What is there type of industry that keeps them there? Sorry one more question, Do your boys ever get sick on your trips? Looking forward to part three!
Thanks Jack! We aren’t experts on the local economy by any stretch but to cross the Jardine River as you would have seen, it’s ran by the Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council. There isn’t much settlement other than small towns and indigenous communities. I suspect their major drawcard is tourism of adventure seekers heading up to the most northern point of mainland Australia. As far as sickness, we were only sick once on the trip, I suppose that’s mainly because of the isolation and limited exposure to large groups. Very lucky I guess, spoiler alert. We all ended up with that flu but very mild. ❤️
gee you love showing your face, I wish you could have showed more of the scenery, that is what we want to see
Valid, too much of the mug more of the beautiful scenery! We’re editing part two at the moment and we’ve definitely arrived at the stunning stuff to show case for sure, so we’ll make sure we show as much as we can!
thank you for acknowledging my comment and making a great video@@chasingtheglow
How did the Dirt Roader go? We are hoping to get up there this year Aug/Sept but torn between taking our DR all the way and tow with the Everest and shooting off to do tracks in the side. I want to go to Weipa as well. Or we tow with the Defender so we’d be slow on the highway from Melb but leave the van and sleep in roof top. But we won’t be doing the tracks that much this trip regardless. What’s your advice and did you do any special prep to the van and do you have dust reduction at all?
Hey there! you’ll have a great time!! The Dirt Roader didn’t miss a beat which was nice. There were a few mods our travel mates had that in our opinion out performed our setup. As for advice and prep: We had a mesh deflector type stone guard and it didn’t even come close to the protection given by the mat style under the draw bar (stone stomper). Dust reduction, we had the Dometic DRS (cheaper, don’t have to remember to turn on and off and no wiring required) but because they rely on movement to force filtered air into caravan to create the pressure and keep out dust, we found at low speeds driving behind others the dust came in. It was perfect for most of Australia but under those conditions the powered “Carafan" in our mates van dominated ours. We also wrapped the underbody pipe work in pool noodles and zip ties and it worked a treat. As far as screws, check the fridge, microwave and oven, we have seen people all around Australia with brand new vans who have lost these including us. We would love to do again in a rooftop! both are epic adventures! We were leaving the van and jumping on and off the OTT. Our remaining videos coming out in this series will show in more detail how we went. Sing out if you have any more question’s, happy to help. :)
Thanks for that, we have the stone stomper so all good there but we were considering the DRS but will definitely investigate the carafan more. Got the pool noodles on the list! Looking forward to the next videos. I’ll prob definitely have more questions!
I was just thinking of you guys today that I had not seen you for a while. My family from down under, I always look forward to your Your videos. Your country is very beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to share it with us, And bringing us along. Please stay safe and healthy until the next time.
Cheers Jack! The Cape York trip was definitely on the 🪣 list. So many beautiful things to see we’ve had to break it up into a series. Where are you from again Jack? Cheers 🍻
I'm from utah in the u s a.
So many activities to do in Utah, all year round! very beautiful part of the world too! Thanks for following along! :)
Thank you so much. It's so nice to have people like you. That are willing to take the time to share their country with us. The beauty that is in Australia. A place that I will probably never see in my lifetime So thank you so much. It would be nice if we had more people in the world like you guys willing to share their lives with us. So thank You!
Bok Bok Bok 😂 Keep walking, I don’t have my Geiger counter 😂😂 Another awesome vid👌👌
I miss you guys thank you for taking this along. Nice to see you back on the road again. Happy trails I hope the wind is in your favor until next time.
Thanks Jack! We have some exciting news to share soon! With a new adventure we will be bringing to CZcams this year!
Nice work, just being natural. Sorry if this has been asked before, between you and your mates, which dust suppression systems did you all have? Which ones were best or worse?
Hey mate, No worries at all! As you probably picked up, we had the Dometic DRS and our mates had the Carafan. The Pros of our system were no wiring, cheaper and you didn’t have to remember to turn it on or turn it off before and after use. We got near zero dust in on both the Gibb and Cape. The Con for us is the DRS relies on moving along to create the air pressure, we found the only couple of times we got bad dust in were when we were following in a convoy at low speeds for long periods. The Carafan did not suffer this fate because it’s a powered fan to create the air pressure. Having said that, they are easy to forget to turn on. Hope that helps!
AMAZING VIEWS LOVE IT THANK FOR THE SHARE
Truly beautiful piece of Australia 🙌 thanks for coming on the journey with us!

Those crocs were enormous. Thank you for taking us along.!

Love it guys!!! ❤ ausflex caravans ❤
Thanks legends!
great episode guys we have the bmpro BMS in our van and its so restrictive in what you can add changing that out for victron stuff would have been in my top 5 cheers guys stay safe
Cheers 👍 100%. A mate of ours disabled theirs leaving it as glorified fuse box. Even though we have the bmpro mini boost pro, commlink and odyssey link it’s still very hard to understand what’s going on. It’s also difficult to get timely customer support response in our experience. Our last van had a Redarc bms. I love they’ve got a call centre in Australia and an expert who talks you through any issues which is great while you’re on the road. It’s provides a clear snapshot of what’s happening including history and it’s all in the one unit so you don’t get integration issues. Im also a big fan of the victron gear, we got a Victron 240 charger for the cruiser last week too. Love their app and all the information you can get out like history and trends. From our experience Victron has been really good bang for buck but we haven’t needed to call customer support yet. Will likely go the route of all Redarc or Victron next install. Cheers for watching and stay safe!
The scenery once again was fantastic. Thank you for taking the time to share all of this with Us. Until next time please Stay safe and healthy And keep on driving safely.
Thanks Jack! What a way to finish off Western Australia. :) On to Lake Argyle and Kununurra!
Looks fantastic, great video. How long ago were u at honeymoon bay?
Thanks mate and thanks for watching! It’s really is a beautiful place, we were there for 7 nights in the last week of May. 👍
Far out guys!!! What a bloody adventure
🫶 We are gearing up for the cape now! We’ll need all the tips we can get!
Looks like yous had a great time doing the washouts 🧐
The best! Pretty tired by the end but definitely worth it! Gt’s, Queenies, Cod, Mangrove Jacks! Great fishing!
Just for information Herring are called Tommies in WA as well
Thanks mate! The fishing has been so good the whole way up WA!
@@chasingtheglow I was based in Rockingham in mid 06 and I saw recently big snapper being eaten by big sharks in Cockburn sound, how far up north are you guys now?
Mate, I bet that would have been cool to see! In SA we rarely see sharks but the whole way up WA coast it’s a battle to get them in before they’re live bait! In Honeymoon Bay we had a bronzey strike a GT at the surface and launch out the water! it’s crazy! We have just hit NT! All energy towards catching our first Barra!!
@@chasingtheglow well I live near Glenelg and we get them all the time, two summers ago we had a group of three Great whites 30m off of Seacliff beach
GW’s are next level! Hope to swim with them at Lincoln when we get round!
Cheers for all the info, great set up and enjoying your adventures and photos 😊
Thank you! 😊Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching along!! :) 👍

Thanks guys, eclipse footage was excellent! Megan's reaction was pretty spiritual. Keep up the good work

Thanks, lots of good points to consider
Cheers 🤙 thanks for watching along legend!
Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. It's a country we will probably never see in our lifetime, So thank you so much! Body clips was incredible and that doesn't even do it justice. What a great experience you had in seeing that. You think not a lot of people in the world have seen that, I've seen one in my lifetime it's pretty special!
Hey Jack! Absolute pleasure! Thanks again for tuning in! We had the time of our lives in Exmouth and we’re glad we could share it with everyone. That’s so true about the Eclipse, very difficult to do the experience justice in film! We look forward to the next leg of our journey as we head up through the top end of Australia!
AMAZING it is the bay kids
G’day legends!
Nice vibe with you guys. Really enjoyed this episode and what an amazing place! I want to live there. Haha
Thanks Jason! You plan to stay a week in Exmouth but end up staying 8 haha! Bloody ripper spot! I can understand how people end up moving there!

Hey there! Thanks for watching along 🤙. We are still trying to resolve it but hopefully we can sort it out soon! 😬. We picked up the van June 2022.
