FIRST BOW THRUSTER TESTS of BRAND NEW DISNEY TREASURE at MEYER WERFT SHIPYARD | 4K SHIPSPOTTING
This shipspotting video was filmed on 4th August, 2024, capturing the brand new DISNEY TREASURE cruise ship by Disney Cruise Line as it completed its first tests in the harbor basin of Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. This event followed its spectacular float out the previous day. During the tests, the bow thrusters were tested under high power with the help of two tugs, which kept the ship in position despite the high engine speeds and pitch settings. Additionally, the azipod system at the stern and the lifeboat davits were tested.
The DISNEY TREASURE is the second ship in Meyer Werft's Wish class, following its sister ship, the DISNEY WISH, and is set to be delivered to Disney Cruise Line in 2024. This magnificent vessel boasts a gross tonnage of 144,000 GT, accommodating 1,555 crew members and 4,000 passengers across 1,250 cabins.

Ich war grade am Überlegen woher mir der Schiffsname so bekannt vorkommt, das Schifft hat zusammen mit der Flickertail State 1990 das Giftgas (Operation Lindwurm) von Nordenham abtransportiert 🚢
Interessanter Fakt - danke fürs Teilen! Hier ein englischer Wikipedia-Artikel dazu, in dem beide Schiffe auch erwähnt werden: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Steel_Box Die Flickertail State ist übrigens seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr im Dienst, und wird nur noch für Ersatzteile für die beiden Schwesterschiffe Gopher State und Cornhusker State verwendet.

Hi - thanks for watching. The anchor handling tug which does the main trip is the "AMBER II". The ship was escorted by two local harbour tugs "VB WILHELMSHAVEN" and "VB BERNE".

Das ein Schiff um die halbe Welt kajolt wird, um dann irgendwo verschrottet zu werden, finde ich schon obszön.
der Wilhelm II haette sie nach Tsingtau geschickt, um den Chinesen endlch zu zeigen was eine deutsche Harke ist...
Die Ukraine wäre eventuell froh gewesen, die ein oder andere Fregatte als Übergangslösung bzw. Erstaustattung in einer Nachkriegsmarine zu erhalten. So bleibt nur der traurige Weg, den die Schiffe jetzt gehen, besser fahren müssen.😩😫
klar... sicher... schifff seit 10 jahren ausser dienst.. alles militärische gerät längst ausgebaut.. keine besatzung zur bedienung... und liegt in einem hafen in direkter reichweite vón 100 russischen raketen.. so eine idee kann auch nur ein typscher natokriegstreibe rhaben

That's right, there were considerations to maintain a ship of this class as a museum. However, you probably know that a lot of money is needed for this and that is why it never happened. You can't maintain every ship.

What's this Boldwind used for?
Thank you very much for watching this video. BOLDWIND is a deck cargo ship that is used to transport all kind of wind turbine parts. For example wind turbine blades, parts of the wind turbine tower, or the head segments. On this voyage she was empty but thats rarely the case.

To be fair: the vessel was already decommissioned in 2013. At this point, she served for more than 30 years, which is a long period. After it has been decommissioned, the ship is almost completely dismantled. In this case, scrapping is almost the only option left.
Als ehemaliger 42er OMT wird mir das Herz schwer 😢😢😢. Machs gut alte Lady. Hatten 196 bis 1999 eine schöne Zeit zusammen.
Bin von April 99 bis März 2005 auf ihr gefahren, als 44er und Boardingsoladat. Das war ne tolle Zeit!!
War von Oktober 93 bis September 96 an Bord der Emden V. Schade, dass das Schiff mit dem traditionsreichsten Namen der Flotte keinen Ehrenplatz in Emden oder im Marine Museum bekommen konnte. Alle Bemühungen haben nichts gebracht. Tschau alte Lady, alls du 11 warst hab ich meine Frau auf dir kennengelernt, 19 Jahre später wurdest du außer Dienst gestellt und weitere 11 Jahre später gehst du deinem Ende entgegen. Doch trotzdem gilt für alle Zeit: EMDEN! VORAN!
Als Erstbesatzung blutet mir das Herz. Sie ist einfach elegant.... auch wenn die 11er lange nichts gemacht haben. 🙂
Außerdienststellung war am 29.11.2013. Schlimm genug. ;-) Acht Schwestern hatte sie nicht, sondern es waren insgesamt acht Schwestern. - Aber gut gefilmt! Liegt die ex-NIEDERSACHSEN jetzt neben LÜBECK, habe ich das richtig gesehen?
Moin, vielen Dank fürs Ansehen! Da hast du natürlich vollkommen recht - da bin ich mit der Zeile zur Fregatte KÖLN verrutscht. Gut, dass jemand aufpasst 😉 - Wird natürlich sofort korrigiert. Nachdem die LÜBECK als letztes Schiff der Klasse im MARS außer Dienst gestellt wurde, hat sie an den heutigen Liegeplatz verholt. Seit einiger Zeit liegt neben ihr die ehemalige Fregatte AUGSBURG. Mittlerweile sind beide Schiffe aber in einem "ausgemusterten" Zustand. Die Fregatte NIEDERSACHSEN wurde bereits am 06.11.2023 mit dem Hochseeschlepper ONYX ebenfalls in die Türkei geschleppt.
Ach ja, ist ja logisch! Dann liegt in der Ecke, wo ex-EMDEN bis dato lag, wohl jetzt nichts mehr?
So siehts aus - der Platz scheint jetzt leer zu sein.
