As motivational or keynote speakers we are never realistically going to reach 100% of our audience; there's simply too many different minds, beliefs and attitudes in any given crowd to sway everyone. But by incorporating the use of positive hand gestures rather than negative we can increase the uptake of those in the crowd who are likely to accept and truly hear our message. At the same time, by avoiding aggressive hand gestures such as the pointed finger and the clenched fist we can reduce the amount of people who are likely to be triggered in a negative way.
