Your Active and Bypass demonstration was poorly done. Other tutorials do it without pause, and with graphics: ACTIVE or BYPASS. But you paused and spoke before demonstrating one and the other, which, sometimes, made it difficult to perceive the difference.

its amazing how simply adding the HP after the distortion turns the vibe completely different. it sounds thicker on the entire signal, but sounds more focused and angrier with the HP. while I have considered this send technique, i don't think i've actually done it but I'm inspired to try it out now, thanks for the vid
No problem! I like to use it when I really like the vibe of a certain saturation plugin or I might be collaborating and mixing with limited plugins. I agree with adding a HP afterword.

Waveshell is a waves file. It should be installed while you install your waves plugins.

I didn’t even hear the studdering
There are two stutters before the verse drops. I automated the volume and panning and played with the pitch to give a more unique stutter. Had I not automated the volume, panning, and formant it would be a more traditional stutter.

lol, I know what you mean. If you want more traditional or fewer steps you can always leave out the volume and panning automation or skip the formant step.

My apologies. I realized my edit left out the transfer. To transfer license to an external device click on the transfer tab on the left hand side of Waves Central. Then make sure you're under the "Connected Devices" tab at the top of the page. Here you can highlight the plugin(s) and on the right hand side will have the option of moving the license to your external device.

That Amek looks nice! There’s no better surgical EQ than the BX digital V3 in my eyes.
I really like the Amek interface. I really like the way it sounds on my sub-master. Glues everything together. I totally agree with the V3. Its a great surgical EQ and I like the mid/side processing as well.
@@wilmaker yeah it looks interesting….i think those are my favorite types of plugins….with the V3 the only thing I notice is that if I use too much stereo widening it will dilute the other plug ins on the chain a little after it so I will use maybe 25% extra widening on the B3 and then maybe 25% on the other plugins that have that feature on the chain ….i don’t know why but for me it seems that way.

I like to use the stock eq 8 I know sometimes you might have to double up but I love lives eq 8 over sampling feature

Only my waves tune wasn't working. I tried repairing, and was so confused because all the other waves plugins were working. I then clicked on Waves Tune to uninstall it and try reinstalling it, but it wasn't even installed in the first place. THE GREEN INSTALLED CHECK MARK CAN LIE TO YOU.

What if I want to send some tracks with processing (plugin reverbs and effects, etc.) for an engineer to mix? Do I "commit" the effects to the track first then proceed with how you outlined the unprocessed method?
No need to commit the effects to the track with the first method. It will render out your tracks with effects. The second method will give your mix engineer the raw tracks. It's always good to send a refrence track if you decide to send the raw tracks so your engineer has a vision of what you want your final product to sound like.

To me, the difference is more of an equal curve, As many have already commented, the mk 3 sounds darker. But I think that could be matched, if one wanted to match, with eq.

@@wilmaker I just use Ableton's stock eqs because it's more convenient and because I don't really notice any difference in the sound when using Fabfilter's eqs.

This is beyond helpful. Thank you very much. Moving from FL, Ableton initially seems restrictive but that's just because I haven't got a clue what I'm doing. It's a completely different way of thinking for me. I'm slowly getting there, vids like this are a great help. I do miss the FL piano roll to a degree.
I'm happy the video helped out. Ableton's interface has a simplicity to it and I think that could add to a sense of restriction. Once I got the hang of it I felt it just has a creative flow to it. I do like Ableton's piano roll but FL's is unmatched for now.
Congratulations on making a CZcams thumbnail that wasn't over the top and revolting. Refreshing vibes here and great motion graphics. I've been an Ableton user for 10 years and picked up FL recently. There aren't enough crash course videos going from Ableton to FL, but I appreciate this one for what it is!
Thank you! I really appreciate the comments. I used FL first then tried out Ableton. I like both and continue to use both since I have collaborators that use each. They both seem to give me different vibes so It just depends on which one I'm in the mood to use. Most times if I make a video on a technique in one DAW I''ll make another video of that same technique for the other.

This one effect is so complicated in so many DAWS lol. The way Pro Tools does this is still the easiest and fastest way to do this.
