The USC port is for charging only, it's not for any data. I don't think this controller is meant for use with PC

If you're docking to a TV, your TV may have a 'game mode'. Try changing your ROG Ally from 60hz to 120hz, and also try setting up AMD FreeSync (VRR) for that. Make sure you're using a HDMI 2.0 cable. You can mess with display settings like resolution, your Windows output settings, and in-game settings

It can be a bit of trial and error. On your Ally, go into Windows display settings and change the resolution for the TV to 1080 on your Ally. Try setting up AMD FreeSync. AMD Anti Lag is another festure you can turn on in the AMD software to reduce input lag. There are reddit posts online about this issue, have a read through those as well. There are different things you can try, including a new cable

They're very similar. The M15 has an advantage with the updated microswitch ABXY & dpad buttons and the G8 has the rubber membrane buttons by the looks of it. The G8 has customizable face plates. I've seen some other videos on CZcams that may compare them. The hidden features may be relevant to some people, such as the quick trigger mode on the M15 triggers

That's an interesting point of view. And I get what you're saying, the OG Game Boy Advance wasn't a wifi device and the game holds the original acheivements that the game is known for. So not a deal breaker at all. It's just strange to me that the wifi option requires an extra dongle for Powkiddy devices at this point in this market. At least the device is a cheap price 👌 I've spent the last couple decades on Xbox, so I have that little addiction of acheivements even if they're not significant lol I do like some things Retro Acheivements adds in, which motivates me to do more in the game. For example on Super Nintendo you get an achievement for collecting all the dragon coins in Super Mario World in addition to the points/lives, which was only rewarded on the Game Boy Advance version originally which unlocked Peach Coins if you collected them. But yeah, not for everyone lol

I'll keep it in mind. I've never looked into customizing anything like that yet, but if I can fit a video in about it soon, it would be cool if it booted with the Batpixel logo. In the meantime.. there is a free website you can use that's similar to Photoshop called 'Photopea' and you can export 'png' files. It may just be a matter of replacing the muOS logo file with your new logo if you name it the same thing (this is just a guess)

@@batpixel thanks for the reply! & that would be sweet! Also, that's a cool website, thanks again for that. I tried replacing the bmp file for the photo of the boot logo in a theme I use & that ended up making my SP with MuOS freeze up. Also, when I tried to connect to transfer files through SFTP within MuOS and after connecting to wifi too, my device froze up also. I have a brand new Sandisk SD & I don't know why it's doing this. Do you think this is the SD cards fault or the OS? Here I am reflashing it again. If I don't attempt changing the boot logo or try using SFTP, the device works 100% fine. I can play all my games. Pretty weird. Maybe MuOS hates me haha. Any insight or advice would be helpful. Thanks again:)

Did you name your new bmp file the exact same as the one in your theme? If the file name itself is different maybe that could cause issues. It could also be a resolution issue or a file size issue. If you right click the original bmp file you should be able to see that information in the properties menu. Then match your image to be the exact same and same name I'm not sure why your device is freezing through connecting with wifi though.. if you have multiple wifi networks available try different ones. Have you tried updating muOS 'Refried Beans' to 'Baked Beans'? It's really quick to do and I have a video about how to do it in a couple of minutes. I can't see it being the SD card. I'm just taking guesses here lol The Discord for muOS may be the best way to get quicker and more accurate answers on technical issues

@@batpixel Yeah, I renamed the bootlogo to "Bootlogo" and also made the resolution the same. When I say "Freezing", the screen would turn black and if I reset device doesn't go past the original bootlogo (obviously my file replacement for bmp didn't trigger any change lol). Same results when literally just pressing the SFTP option. I didn't even know there was a baked beans! I'll peep your video and check it out. Much appreciated, Brotha!

@@batpixel Hey man! Happy Weekend! Just wanted to reach out to you. Updating the device fixed everything! Got my custom boot logo to show up. Now on the otherhand.. I accidently broke the JST connector off of the battery:( Haha. Damn, it. So i ordered another SP instead of a battery! Common sense , right? Hahaha. These things are so awesome. Anywho, do you have any tips on carefully removing the battery with these Anbernic handhelds and the SP in general? It's so scary ripping that connector off accidently and such a sucker feeling. The backplate is a slight interference too for the SP. Much love brotha!

I don't think so. But muOS let's you connect to the SP over wifi and you can drag files onto the device using a web browser. I have only tried updating the stock software the way I did it in this video

Keep this in mind: The SP buttons are setup as a controller as 'port 1' and it is assigned to player 1 in the Quick Menu of RetroArch. So if I add a controller like you're doing.. I setup the controller as 'Port 2' and then assign that port to player 1 (I set the SP 'port 1' as player 2) I made a video (one of my first videos last year) about mapping a 6 button Sega Genesis controller in RetroArch. You should check that out. I used Mortal Kombat on Sega to confirm it was mapped properly. It's basically a 2 step process.. you have to map the controller buttons in the main RetroArch menus, then map it out for a specific game in the Quick Menu in RetroArch. You can save the controls for the entire Sega emulator by saving core overrides. My Sega button video is pretty old, so this video above ^ shows a clearer way to actually save the controls. But mapping should still be the same I never tried any super-scaler ROMS before

The phone gaming realm is new to me, but the quality of the M15 is off the charts 👌🎮

Because it's a legal grey area. You can legally make a copy of games you have purchased, for your own personal use. But adding games without going through that process is illegal distribution. If I make a video showing people how to add games to devices, it opens up potential issues with adding games they haven't purchased that could put my channel at risk

Yes I'm sure they can program it however they want. Right now customizing your own hot keys isn't a deal breaker or anything. If you used the - + buttons as the volume buttons then I guess it would be better to use the select button as the hot key for other shortcuts

You could try a new SD card and download an updated version of the software from the Anbernic website. Or use my full guide on installing muOS if you don't mind losing Bluetooth. muOS is awesome. Just backup your files from your black SD card so you have them. If none of that works then yeah exchange it

It has Double Dragon (like the VS arcade fighter) and Double Dragon 2 arcade beat em up. It also has a lot of Double Dragon games across different platforms

It still won't be perfect, but they optimize it the best they can. It will still be hit or miss depending on what you play

@@batpixel Well so far the device is only in my Aliexpress shopping cart, but I've since come to the conclusion that right now it's basically ticking almost any box I could wish for for a device of this form factor. I'd rather watch one or two very long videos that are at least chaptered rather than a dozen short ones where you possibly run into issues of conflicting settings since you get your base setup tips from a million different places. I probably could figure stuff out on my own and I'm one to go through ALL available settings before usage on anything new I get anyhow, but I ALWAYS also appreciate being able to prepare my setup and mind whilst I wait for something to ship and also to see what options are available - to me - is always a buying decision as well because I'm a pedantic nitpicker and if too much of my wishlist is missing for configs I'd rather wait for something better to appear than going through 2-3 devices until I arrive at my desired product. To me that's just wasteful and I'm not starved for electronics as it is haha.

@AlexChama ah yes, I understand. The good news is these handhelds are getting better and better. If you do decide to purchase this, I would reccomend joining the muOS Discord, because the software is mostly setup properly but the Discord users are very helpful if you run into any issues with settings 👌 let me know which device you decide on in the future 🦇

I'm not sure the exact specs you need. But here are the specs I was using and I was able to play a lot of Windows 98 3D games. But it does struggle with some games like Quake 2 for example: Intel i5-72000CPU @ 2.5GHz, 8GB ram, 2 cores If you're sticking to Windows 95, you may want to checkout a program called DOSbox as well
