That's a lovely signal from KL7, usually not so loud here in the middle of Norway as further south in Europe. Didn't have a chance to participate in ARRL CW, looks like the conditions were great! 73 DE LB1TI/LC9A

I worked Axel at 0758utc today, while running just 5W into an Ampro 20 whip on a magmount. He was booming through, with a nice amount of auroral flutter. First Alaska QSO for me, and I managed to work him before he had to switch to split and start listening up as the pileup grew. Really happy. 73 M3KXZ

CQ. I don't know Morse, but this is somehow etched in my memory from back when I was in radio club. We mostly did SSB, and around the time I started learning Morse, the club disbanded due to lack of members (and I wasn't interested enough to pursue it on my own), but I still clearly remember (or, checking now, feel like I remember, with my brain editing out some "dah"-s for better musical rhythm) the "CQ CQ DX ES1AX" of Elmer working the 17 m band as we arrived at the club. That said, your keying rate is so fast I have trouble deciphering it even with a table. :)

Spacefight1019 --- well said . Over 90 % FT8 . Great if you like FT 8 but personally I hate the mode . We were originally told of “ Emphasis on CW snd Ssb “. Loads of huge donations went in many hundreds of dollars etc . What did we get …. For the first week FT8 all the while . What went wrong I wonder .. Thiery has tried on cw 15 mtrs yesterday and there are many idiots and spoilers messing it up too . However he tried it for a couple of hours before going to ……………… you guess it FT8 ..

There are a lot of hams who are not happy with the overwhelming use of FT8. Thierry only has three weeks to operate on the island and a week and a half of that is gone and there has been no HF SSB operation or operation on other than 30/20 meters until 1/4/23. For many of them they know that they will most likely not have another shot at Crozet in their lifetime and time is running out. Everyone doesn't have FT8. Everyone doesn't have satellite. We can only hope that the upcoming Bouviet Island operation is better balanced.
