Sure bro, right session to travel is dec to March, by that time flight tickets will be cheap from delhi, if u r vegetarian it will be little tough, however book hostels which has kitchen were you can cook
However you have 6 Indian restaurant, but will cost 1000rs for 2 person per meal
For stay , you have many hostels, which will start from 400rs per night, in the center of city

Room book panrathu safe, because when we go with friends or bachelors they will check randomly, if our time is bad then , we might end up in paying 4000baht fine , which is 10000inr, better to book rooms and there are many pay later rooms, so just you can book and have confirmation here and later after visa process you can change the rooms or hostel . Visa is free for Indians as on date
