Did you have his permission to film????????😢
I did not record it. This video is over 20 years old
Феноменальное мастерство!
Is this the same recording as on your other channel? Were you able to clean up the audio yourself?
Yes and the cleaning up is a work in progress.
@@jeroenpeeters9759 Any luck with the Davidsbündlertänze?
Sorry, but the recording quality is not really good... but thanks any way.
My love!!
Too bad there are people making sounds in the hall. Coughing etc., and the recording quality isn't best. I think the 1919 recording from Sergei Rachmaninoff himself has better audio quality than this one. I wish there was better recording of Arcadi Volodos playing it, he's perhaps the best interpret of Rachmaninoff ever.
Amazing!!!!
Was this in hasselt?
Yes
Where is Volodos now? Seems like he's slowed down a bit 🤔
Doing a Mompou/Scriabin tour in 2023
Listened to this program in Berlin, unbelievable best live recital I have listened since Volodos himself playing Schubert B dur Sonate… I was thinking maybe I shouldn’t listen to him with this program from the same 2022, but now listening again to Fantasie I am again in awe, ending of last movement, I don’t know how to describe. Thank you!
This is the same concert but the audio is enhanced, I’m not saying the sound is better but it’s louder. czcams.com/video/J-yMUvf6xg4/video.html
Che pianista !! Eccezionale !!
Hi Jeroen November 17th Arkadi Vollodos is in Utrecht with a different program, Mompou and Scriabin. The Mompou CD is my all time favorite. Will you be in Utrecht?? Unfortunaly I'm abroad😢.
I’m going to see him in Luik in March next year. There the program is still Schumann’s Davidbündlertänze and Scriabin but I think it will change to Mompou. And he also comes to Brussels in June. Unfortunately I can’t attend the recital in Utrecht. Hopefully some good soul will record it. I heard that Arcadi is going to record a Schumann cd, hopefully with the Kinderszenen and Fantasie in C, I’ll be looking forward to that. I will of course try to record the recitals that I’ll attend. I know it’s illegal but if nobody records these performances then they are lost forever. And that would be such a shame. It’s weird that are so little recent recordings of him. The ones from this year were all done by me.

Meravigliosa!!Ascoltata dal vivo a Napoli a maggio, da restare senza fiato. Un capolavoro assoluto di interprertazione. Da sentire 10 volte di fila. Insuperabile
When was this recorded?
January 2004
the definitive version.
Some classic Volodos. Brilliant stuff. 2007 I believe this performance. Anyone have any info on what he may record next? Been some time since his d959 cd release now.
I believe it’s going to be Schumann. My guess is the Kinderszenen, the Fantasie 40 and perhaps the Davidsbündlertänze because he’ll play that next season…
I hope so, maybe humoreske op 20, as he played that in 2019/20. one of my favourites. Thanks 👍
A lost video came to life. And the rest? And Polka?
Lost I’m afraid
His Träumerei brought tears to my eyes.
Yes it’s a remarkable performance
Thank you!
Last night in Vienna he played Debussy Preludes. That should have been marvelous, I'd love to heat that. Jeroen, any connections in Vienna??
No sorry! Are you sure he played Debussy? I’m asking because I will see him again in Brussels next month and he plays the same program as in Tilburg. And yes I will try to record the concert.
Ben benieuwd!
@ Peter Lenaerts I was wrong about Debussy? Misinformation at some sites like music-opera.
@@jeroenpeeters9759 Fantasie van Schumann is 'gemakkelijk'??? LOL.
Recorded tonight in Tilburg?? Magical performance! He is one of the greatest musicians of this moment.
Yeah, pure genius. Hope the audio is okay.
@@jeroenpeeters9759 great stuff! What were the encores please?

Volodos cadenza around 6:30 ;)
this feel a bit like horowitz additions? don't know that recording well enough though.
@@1fattyfatman those swirly arpeggios are definitely from Horowitz first heard in his transcription of Liszt’s HR 2. AV played this piece on his debut Sony CD from 1997.
Wow, this must be the oldest recording of Volodos available on the internet! How did you get your hands on it? Do you have more recordings of him that you haven't posted yet?

Chris Cross no but I will see him 2 times in May. Might make an audio recording of those events.
@@jeroenpeeters9759 How I envy you! My greatest hope is to travel to Europe to hear him one day! Will he play this sonata again at those recitals in May or only Liszt and Schumann?
Chris Cross Liszt and schumann but in one recital Humoreske and in the other Kreisleriana
Chris Cross next year he will play Schubert, Brahms and Debussy
What piece is he playing in this video?
Davis Schubert
great
Maybe it's just me, but I think it might be more interesting to watch a rehearsal than the performance.
So cool to see him being so free at the piano, communicating to his audience, experimenting with different musical ideas... albeit many years ago, I'm guessing around 2002-2003? I wish he allowed for some of his masterclasses to be recorded: it would a great privilege for all of us to learn from him!
Hey thanks for uploading this! Do you mind telling me the date this was recorded?
Putsmeiser 8 January 2004
It's amazing how gentle his touch always is, yet he can produce the most thunderous fortissimo and pianissimo so quiet that you almost feel the sound, rather than hearing it.
