If we can help our brains effortlessly ...

When my girls were babies and toddlers I remember being in awe of the brain changes that followed after a trip, even a weekend trip to grandmas. Their little brains had to adapt to new situations. One time when returning from a trip my oldest was probably 9 months old and when I laid her in the changing table she let out a big sigh! I knew she was relieved to be back in her known environment.

You forgot to mention that the human mind-body complex is the single most intelligent self-regulatory organism in the universe, discovered so far. It compensates for any descrepancies in a sleep pattern very quickly by readjusting the sleep phases in the following sleep. If there is no other health issue, there's absolutely no need for interfering with pseudo-drugs or chemicals. Do you know that there are about 80 polymers floating around in human blood stream that our physiology cannot process? No wonder cancer cases are on the increase. To counteract and rebalance bring fibre in your natural food-intake. Remove fast food completely. Good luck.
