A Walk Through Liberty London

After visiting London and Paris I was inspired by all of the floral displays. So I decided to up my balcony appeal by covering it with flowers. I worked in steps - greenery, hanging flowers, flower bouquets, filler flowers, lights and flower garlands. It took 5 trips to Michaels and too much money to create. Can they still be used for origami, or do they become too thick?
It depends what you add to them. Thin layers of paint and stamping they should still work. Texture pastes then definitely too thick.
@ScrapTimeVideos thank you! I didn't realize this was an old video lol but i appreciate the response. My best friend loves doing origami and I'm an artist so i thought i might try to make her some neat custom paper as a birthday gift :] these videos are helpful!!
No problem. If you stick to using inks or thinner paints it should work for you.

I've had my markers for a LONG time. What do you suggest to revive them. I did try the distress reinkers on some but you probably have a better idea

@@ScrapTimeVideos I am letting it sit longer to absorb more of the fluid. It might be a much older product that was at the back of the display. I have had the same problem buying markers, dried out when opened.

Hi is a hair dryer ok instead of a heat gun thanks.
A hair dryer doesn't usually get hot enough.
You definitely need a heat gun. A hair dryer isn’t hot enough
So is it the texture paste making the bubbly effect when heated or the glaze or the combination of both? That was really interesting!

Thank you! IMPORTANT QUESTION: WHY AREN’T PEOPLE USING THESE OXIDE SPRAYS TODAY? The one product that I thought I should buy the whole line and no videos using them. Certainly changed my purchasing impulses forever.😢
I find personally I prefer the original sprays. I like the clear colour vs the oxide effect. I did make a few videos using them on the channel.

I have a 9 video series on how to make your own collage papers, layer by layer. I also have another series on using different mediums to create backgrounds. Between the 2 they should inspire you.
I'm rewatching this years later and this remains one of my all time favorite technique videos. The color explosion with the glaze is like nothing else. The depth reminds me of photos from the Hubble telescope!
I am anxious to try this way of making water color backgrounds. Will start with atc sized water color papers. Thank you for this wonderfully informative technique

I was a viewer early on in the scrapbooking & card making days. As you shifted to mixed media, I dropped away as that was not my lane (at the time!). But now I'm exploring mixed media and your videos popped up in my feed again! Nice to see you once more. I miss Creativation too. But it’s a shadow of itself. If I was to attend there are only 20 booths worth visiting, so it just doesn’t make the trip worth it. I look each year to see who is attending.

Dyan has her own line of paints so I’m sure she would recommend those. They are through Ranger.

If I try and use a blending tool with the Oxide Sprays, it mills the paper. Doesn't happen with the pads. Any thoughts? Or are sprays just not formulated to be able to be used with blenders?
The sprays are wet and aren’t designed to be blended that way. But once they dry you can use the blender with inks on top of them.
