My v330 14ikb lenovo laptop with i5-8250u did 3831 points. It works 3.4ghz with turbo boost enabled. But it went up to 95°C at the end of the test. Currently using an mx4 thermal paste on it. Cleaned it and repaste it 2 days ago.
It did 2066 points without turbo boost. But without turbo it stays 60°C at 1.8ghz
How did your cpu up to 3.4 Mine is 2.3 all the time Didyou overclock it But the i5 8250u Consume only 15w Mine is dell latitude 5490 and give me only 3204 pts
@@sinzo9912 turbo boost lets cpu to go 3.4 ghz but 15w tdp doesnt let it go to 3.4. I somehow disabled tdp and now its working with max power. It consumes 34 w under load. If your cpu is not overheating now then u can try to disable tdp. I tried many ways to disable it but the last thing I did worked only. I changed IMON slope settings in advanced bios and now it works like theres no tdp.

i got 7879 with HP Baker MS motherboard and its stock cooler (it is a prebuilt pc) i see the tdp went down after temperture reach >70 celcius so i guess the cooler is the problem

Seems to be too low, probably overheating. Mine managed to get 880 / 3012 (st / mt) without any overclocking or external cooling. HP Probook 450 G5
It wasn't overheating, low score might be because it was recording screen at the same time but still there is a huge difference between 3864 and 1962
It should be more nearby 4500 to 5000 bro , see if your laptop wattage is restricted or thermal throttling
i5 8350u can do 3600 pts, such a big different
I highly doubt that Core i5 8250U can do even 3000 pts.
@@traveltechtips6634 It can. I got 4300 pts with an unlocked i5 8250u in an Ideapad 330s. But undervolted and unlocked power limits. Draws around 35W at these settings.

Under 100% load, I usually get between 65~70 degrees Celsius

Core i5 520m is a 1st Gen i5. unfortunately you cannot change processor only with anything better in that generation of CPUs. At this point, go for at least 6th Genaration i5 or i7 which you cannot fit in your current laptop. I hope that helps.

I got 7945 with 61 watts and 4.091ghz. Temps never went above 71C with a Gammaxx 300 cooler and no intake fans. You can make sure that you enable XMP. I am running 16 16 16 32 latency on 2666mhz. That's basically the only thing I have played around with
