Alan is a member of the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) Working Group responsible for writing European Standards for safes, strongrooms (vaults), secure cabinets and physical data protection for the European Union and a member of the U.S. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Standards Technical Panel TC72 covering standards for fire resistance of record protection devices. Raising The Height Of A Safe For Wheelchair
The use of certified plinths to raise the height of small safes is a money saver for those with mobility issues and for wheelchair users. Certified plinths undergo the same burglary resistance test as the grade of safe they are used with. Available in grade I, II and III these plinths allow certified safes to be anchored in a manner designed to achieve at least a holding force of 50kN (5.089 tons) fulfilling the requirement under European safe standard EN1143-1 that a safe is correctly anchored.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
It should be noted that there are many uncertified DIY plinths on the market that are not fit for purpose and anchoring with such plinths will void a safe’s burglary resistance certification. If you require a plinth solution for a safe always ensure that the plinth is certified for use with the specific safe being installed. Ask for a certification from an accredited certification body showing that the specific safe has been certified for use with the specific plinth to be installed.

I'd recommend trying a few of the factory default combinations. You might get lucky.🤷♂️

Are you sure you picked this? There is a key in the bottom lock which looks like it’s turned & you never shown the safe was locked in the 1st place, ie you never tried the handle. So it’s false really, you didn’t pick it. It’s a fake video……
The bottom lock is open. The demonstration was to see how long it took to pick one lock open, in this case, the top lock. Safes up to grade III usually only have one lock.
How long would it take for someone to break into this?

The higher the grade the higher its resistance to burglary attack. VCD would be the most resistant and we would recommend certified digital locks as key locks can be picked open. Safes over grade II are also prepared for seismic sensors so fitting these makes sure that the moment anyone tries to attack the safe an alarm is triggered. These safes are tested against a range of up to 200 burglary tools.

The safe is impressive but whoever finds the keys can open it. Makes no sense at all. For a safe like this a redundant electronic lock or mechanic lock would make more sense.
I completely agree, but in this case the customer insisted on these particular locks, so tamper detection had to be installed on the keypads. Our recommendation was two EMP resistant digital locks. Thank you for your comment!

Is this fire resistant?
All safes have a certain amount of fire resistance as but this model is not certified for fire resistance. The fire resistant version is the AP10 which has 1 hour resistance under European standards. Sorry for the late reply.

As a certified safe has to be anchored to a solid surface and that is usually a floor, raising the height of a small safe is necessary so that a wheelchair user can get access to everything in the safe and see everything in it.

That's a key lock, I think you have it confused with a combination lock.

The keypad is only a low-cost code input device designed to be destroyed in an attack. The codes for the safe are held in the lock on the inside of the safe. A replacement keypad can easily be connected to the lock and the safe opened such an attack. This is quite unlike a key lock that if damaged may require drilling, damaging the safe. There is also the fact that a key can be copied and a key lock can easily be picked open, both without your knowledge. Please see this video: czcams.com/video/uTUj-wk2tTk/video.html
