I took the MSF course recently at my local Harley dealer. The bike I used was a base street 500 I think. I’m 6’4” and on the first riding day my hips cramped up terribly. I felt like a circus bear on a mini-bike.

Regarding the dark visor does this come with the helmet or do you have to buy it as well?

I'm 6'4" 250lbs. And I am riding a 2015 Suzuki Hayabusa and it's actually quite comfortable. Not much leaning forward on this bike.

Yeah you see tons of vids with chicks riding Harleys and the comments are filled with “right on girl ” comments which is cool but. Yeah. These bikes fit them WAY better than me

Hi, I am a big Swede, slightly above average, with my 6 foot 8, (202 cm) 108 kg and 36” inseam. I ride a Road king Police 2013 with a HD tallboy seat and floorboards from Pegboards floorboards in USA. Check them out! That made the bike transform from a bit cramped to supercomfortable. I also installed Heavy duty springs in the rear suspension. Long wheelbase gives you plenty of space and it is still easy to handle. I truly can recommend that concept. I suggest a roadking 2009 or later or a BMW R1200GSA 2010 or later. Both bikes are superb for riding with a pillion. BMW R 1200GSA 2010-2013 gives very much bike for the money. Good bike hunting!

Harley has several options to accomodate taller riders. Several companies make the same items, at a lesser cost, that fit many different Harley models, like CC Rider and Drag Specialties seats, and Kuryakin has several other items for taller riders.

I have a Bonneville Bobber. Overall a rather "small" bike, but that is usually the design in the retro sector. Old motorcycles were minimalist, without many add-ons. If you like such retro / cruisers or cafe racers, then you have to accept one or two peculiarities. With handlebars, seat position and controls, however, you can adjust a lot so that taller people can also ride reasonably well.

My suggestion is to keep your phone on you and charge a power bank. You might need to make a call if you part company with your bike. Heated grips are great, gloves are warmer in extreme conditions but grips are always on the bike and can be used at anytime.

Liked the bike park walk around, good to see the diverse mix of bikes. Looks like a great trip! Big step considering you'd only had your license a short while, good effort.

Is there any space for corecction glasses inside?

I'm 6'6". Ducati x diavel is great especially with the adjustment in the foot pegs. The Ducati scrambler desert sled has great ergos for a tall guy.

Thoroughly enjoyed. I've been watching this rally every year from afar in Canada and absolutely want to take part. Came very close for the 2024 Rally but I couldn't make the financials work this year. Hoping I have a few more pence saved by next. Thanks for taking the time to share this series! And... amazing job taking part so early in your motorcycling journey!

The Fat bob fit me the best of the models I tried out in 2019 (FatBob/StreetBob/LowRider/Slim/FXDR). I'm 6ft 4in, 220lbs. the stock seat shoves you into the tank, and the bars are too low and wide. It was ok for a while, but now I've added a Whiplash seat to set me back a couple inches, and a 14in riser/bar combo the bike is very comfortable. It's tough, manufacturers don't seem to make many bikes for tall people out of the box.
