Tomb Stone MAKEOVER
I overhaul an old Tomb Stone that was in need of some love after suffering a few seasons.

DIY - Scarecrow

Effective and quick prop head for the Scarecrow with some simple items. Build your scarecrow as creepy as your like and as decorated as you like. From common shed items, the only thing that I might add would be some Jack straw coming out of the clothes and hand ends. But you can take these as far or as little as you like. DIY - Quick Bricks

A quick run though of how to whip up some quick bricks. I used this technique with my gargoyle plinths last year. You could use something other than the thick carboard, but it is easy to stick, easy to add texture too and is readily available. DIY Jack O'Lantern.

Make a pumpkin that will last a long time. Get creative with sizes and colours using a Grout/fabric technique that will create a solid Jack O'Lantern!
How does this hold up to rainy weather? Is there a way to make it weather resistant?
So far so good. The Crommelin texture paint that I used is made for outside use and has created a very good seal. After this you could coat with another stone sealer. I found my wings started sagging at their joining point. So I reinforced with some galvanised steel that I pushed into the foam and liquid nails-ed to the gargoyle wings. Painted over with another coat of the Crommelin paint and they have lasted another two Halloweens and they will go out again this year.
Also, you could use the method of fabric and grout or cement if you really want a tougher finish. czcams.com/video/ixlRoMno86o/video.html check out my. Jack o lantern video, that's what I used on that and was able to just paint over with a acrylic and spray paints.
It came out well. I hope the kids loved it.

I use a industrial brand expanding foam. I believe Loctite do them at Home Depot.

This year wife and I are farmers.
Did you poke holes in the gloves or put water in the gloves before the foam?
No holes or water They came out clean from the glove (peeled off clean) and seemed to set just fine.

Stiltbeaststudios did ok, but for mine I needed some extra strength. Hence the support of the cardboard

Yeah, I'm lucky to work at a place that has an abundance of pallet wood and thick cardboard. Businesses often need to get rid of old pallets so easy for the average person to get.

Thanks. First October that we've had rain, so it needed some extra weatherproofing and a tweak on the wings, but they held up.
