Teacher (Jethro Tull) - Bass cover (Sire Marcus Miller P5R, Lindy Fralin Pickups)
Bass part of Jethro Tull's "Teacher" from the album "Benefit" (1970). It was the last album in which Glenn Cornick played the bass.
Recorded with a Sire Marcus Miller P5R, Lindy Fralin pickups. No EQ on the bass, EQ on the original song (reducing the original bass and adding clarity).
Old, dull Addario roundwounds, tone 75%.
The P5R was connected directly to the interface (Behringer U-Phoria), with no processing or effects. That's the Fralin's sound.

Cover of Bob Babbitt's bass line in Stevie Wonder's "Signed, sealed, delivered (I'm yours)". Played in a heavily modified Squier Mustang, paint-stripped, re-finished in tru-oil. Nordstrand Mustang pickups, Fender flatwounds. I used the Yamaha CK61 as an interface. The only processing was a 3db low gain. I do not own the rights to the original song.
How to play Paul Simon's Still crazy after all these years (Rhodes - Yamaha CK61)

Enjoy the Rhodes part from Paul Simon's "Still crazy after all these years", after the glorious Richard Tee's performance in Simon and Garfunkel Concert in Central Park (1981). Tee was one of my great influences, even if I didn't know his name until later. Played in a Yamaha CK61, patch 3-3. "Phasing 73". Phaser and compressor from the CK. Audio direct from the CK to the phone via Yamaha's Rec'...

Do you really need a Nord? Here is the Hammond on the Yamaha CK 61, playing (by memory, not checking the original) Supertramp's "The Long Road". I'm using the Rotary B and Harmonic Enhancer (all parameters around 60). The sound is sent directly from the CK to the smartphone via the Rec'n Share app. In the last 5 years, I've played live and on studio in 3 or 4 different Nord models and two actua...

Rhodes part of "Dois pra lá, dois pra cá", classic of Latin-jazz music, composed by João Bosco and Aldir Blanc. This version was singed by Elis Regina. This is not a step-by-step tutorial. You can read the chords and follow my hands in order to learn to play the song. It is my first video after some time. I sold my gear and moved from country. This song was played with an Yamaha MX-49. How to play Steely Dan's Home at last - piano part

Piano part with the chords of Steely Dan's Home at last, from the album "Aja" (1977). Played in a Kurzweill Sp 5-8 by A. Mucenieks using Ardour, at Linux. You can easily follow the hands and the chords, but keep in mind this is not supposed to be a "step-by-step" tutorial. I hope soon I'm going to do the same thing with Deacon Blues. I do not own the rights of the original song.

This is a step-by-step tutorial on how to play the Wurlitzer part of Steely Dan's "Black Friday", from the album Katy Lied (1975). At the original recording more than one Wurli is used. I'm showing here how to play almost the whole song in the same instrument, including the bass part and the chords. There's just the second part, in which besides the main riff, you should play another chord, and...

L' apprenti sourcier ('The sourcere's apprentice') was composed by the French composer Paul Abraham Dukas (1865-1935) in 1897. It's a fun and well known piece and was featured in Disney's 'Fantasia'. Here is my rendition of the piece, played and programmed on synths. This is the third piece in my project 'Classics on synthesizers'.

This is an arrangement of mine of a Loreena McKennitt's song, which was based upon an Alfred Noyes's (1880-1958) poem published in 1906 at the Blackwood's Magazine, in Edinburgh. I played it with a Latvian kokle and a Spanish (i.e. Classical) guitar, looking for new sonorities. So, you can say is kind of a Celtic music played with Northern and Latin musical instruments. It is also my first atte...

How was the fret work from the factory? Thank you for sharing your experience 🙂
The fretwork was flawless, especially with the rolled edges. Thanks for watching!
@@Asmuk thanks to you 🤩
Great job!
Nice cover; very accurate 👌🏼🎵. Are those long scale Fender flats on that short scale Mustang? I'm curious because I have the same bass and I need a set of strings with higher tension than my current flats 😁.
Thanks! Yes, these are Fender long-scale flats. I've already tried Mustang LaBellas on it but settled for the Fenders. I can't say they have a tension too high, though - they feel the right amount for me.
Did you need to make any modifications or were the Lindy Fralin Pickups a straight drop in, and how did the original Sire pickups sound compared to the Lindy Fralin Pickups?
I had to file the pickguard, as they didn't fit. The screw position and alignment with the strings were perfect, however. To my ears, the original Marcus Miller pickups sound harsher, especially the mid-frequencies. The mid-range in the Fralin sounded more clear and tamed, but still pretty P-bassy. The low end is definitely more pronounced and has a bit more punch. The highs also seem more noticeable, but musically - there was less clankiness than with the stock. Generally, the sound is a bit clearer than the stock. The stock holds its ground well, but the Fralin is definitely an improvement.
Thanks for the concert it was awesome! I may need to upgrade my pickups on my P5R.
Classic Bob Babbitt 🔥🔥
Nice playing. That's Bob Babbitt on S,S,D
Thank you for the correction. I fixed it.
Sweet looking and sounding bass. I especially like the wood finish.
That is a sexy bass, and a sexy tone, keep up the good work!!!
Please please please upload a tutorial
What don't you like about the Nord organ sound? Its impressive to me, is there something I should be wary of?
I particularly found its high-end frequencies harsher than the Yamahas, especially when adding the upper register, and it sits worse in the mix when compared to it (to my ears). I found myself playing in the same place, the same songs, with a Nord in some occasions, and the CK in others. Clearly, the sound operators cut more frequencies when I use the Nord and in the end, I hear less of it in the final result and the sound is less pleasant. It is the other way round, however, when it comes to the Rhodes.
Best version! Congratulations 👏
That was awesome!
Noisy keys. Is that what I am hearing?
@@njphilwt No. there are no noisy keys and no microphone.
It's the Hammond style 'click' - the percussive element of the keys. I can't speak to the CK's sounds, but in many keyboards that is an option element of the organ sound.
Man, this is a wonderful cover, congrats! Maybe you've transcribed somewhere? I'd like to learn how to play it 🙌🏽
Thanks, mate. I didn’t transcribe it, played by ear, so unfortunately I haven’t anything written to share.
Excellent piano! Richard Tee was an absolute master.
Thanks! 😄
I have both...Use CK 61 on top of Nord Electro5D. Told my wife "look honey all good keyboardist have the RED keyboard"
I can hardly believe how on this is. Great work. I bet that is fun to play.
It is indeed :)
Bravo!

Thanks. You the only one on yt that knows the keyboard parts without playing the words which really make it sound silly.
So cool, do you happen to have sheet music for this?
Hey, thanks. No I don't have sheet music, played it by hearing.
This is really good,thx

Thanks! There is a Rhodes preset in the Kurzweil SP 5-8 named "Fagen Phaser." It comes pretty close to what Fagen used a lot.

Is there someway I could hold of that piano arrangement ? As an intermediate piano student that would be an awesome piece to learn
I played that by hearing, handwrote some stuff to the violin player, but unfortunately don't have a piano score

Is it just me or did you have to tune like inbetween steps to transcribe it? For me its like hes inbetween the D and E flat of my piano lol its driving me crazy. Did u have this prob?
Yep, I had to retune the instrument. Playing on an actual piano it's nightmare!

damn, nice job - this song is probably too damn hard that I'll ever get it but if I do I will credit this video lol - props
