the plastic sterile sound is a mainstream nowadays , no one care about what you taking about , no one care about harmonic distortion or sound dimensions (depth width , stereo imaging). nowadays the big thing is a short hat roll repeats in the whole song (terrrrr tek tek tek) , a lot of affordable plugins , trivial short chords , and that is it ... this is the music nowadays , you have a computer you are musician ! ---- LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER / SPL vitalizer / kerwak replica / ssl fusion , can fix the new Akai clean sounding and make it even better than the older units .

now imagie we broke from that mode and did something more urban w those sounds?

Believe me! You won't need a touch screen on a midi keyboard since the list of patches are on top of each other with narrow spaces between them and accidental touches hitting the wrong patches will be on the rise. The encoder is enough and faster for patch selection.

There is only one problem with Machine its his DAW and it is not as user friendly as other DAW, but I still love my old MK2

I love your tutorials, but at the end of the day, my favorite way to get a solid bounce is to crank the pad sensitivity up, play the kit live, no quantization, and make lil adjustments where I was way too off. That way I have all the velocity variation and I keep the feel of a live line.

i think you look at this from the wrong perspective. the sound is important thats clear because we are producing music. so the modern MPCs got the "clear" sound which is perfect for you. if you need it dirtier than make it dirtier. sample from another MPC or what ever source. I for example use sometimes external gear for resampling back to my MPC. the point is that the sound should stay the way you designed it and stay always under your control. thats why i think thats not bad. I saw a guy sampling vinyl with the sp2400 and sampling from the SP to his MPC x or live.
