Hi, I'm so glad you're here! My name is Stephanie and I am a cellist and Suzuki teacher in NorCal/Central Valley, California. I created this channel to help my students practice better at home! I hate how Suzuki just jumps positions and then they expect us to automatically know 7th position in Humoresque 😭

I totally understand. There needs to be more songs in between beginning of book 3 and Humoresque in my opinion😣 but that’s why you have exercise books like position pieces books 1&2 by rick mooney to help you get prepped for that :) check it out if you haven’t already!

I slowed it down to 50% and zoomed into the hands to watch the positioning, particularly of the position of the thumb to middle finger. Also noting the curvature of the fingers. All to evaluate how you get the intonation. My hand is not exactly perpendicular to the finger board, not curved and not following the middle finger to thumb connection. No wonder my intonation and vibrato is, well, not good.
