She’s sealing the end in wax to keep it from growing up and encouraging it to grow a new shoot instead. You can just take it out of the water at the end to seal it rather than the entire time. Had a similar situation with the saddle mounted with the nose pointed slightly downward, on a 15 mile ride I was constantly shifting my rear to the back of the seat. When I got home from my ride I loosened up the 5 mm Allen bolts and adjusted the seat with the nose slightly raised. When I got back on bike I immediately could feel a difference. Tomorrow the real test comes when I group ride 20+ miles. Your review was spot on to what I was experiencing and reinforced what I was initially feeling until I made my adjustment.
