Cooze Adventures is Lucy and Kevin, both islanders of a different sort. Lucy was born and raised in St. Miguel, in the Azores while Kevin was born and raised in Newfoundland. We met in Ontario, Canada, and made this our home where we raised our three children together.
While on vacation in the Azores in the summer of 2023, we shot a few videos and organically started this channel to call these few videos home.
After having done this, we came to the realization that we had stumbled onto a great retirement hobby. As we approach retirement in the near future, we plan on seeing our retirement travel as opportunities to further that hobby by sharing our videos here.
Stay tuned as our new travel experiences bring new videos your way via this channel.

E010 Goodbye Portugal, For Now
This is a wrap-up video of our 2023 Portugal Vacation. Our 2023 vacation was on the island of Sao Miguel of the Azores. We explored a number of locales of the island, including the capital of Ponta Delgada. We also visited the famous town of Furnas, a town built in the basin valley of an extinct volcano. Furnas is known for it's hot springs and beautiful scenery, especially Terra Nostra Garden.
This video includes a brief summary of adventures and activities of the vacation described in more detail in the series of nine previous videos as well as some clips that did not make the cut in those previous videos.

@@JordanLima-z9b Berry berry punny, Young toad!
Morgan Freeman has nothing on Kevin as a narrator!
@JordanLima-z9b Thanks, Jordan. Maybe I'll do a voice-over role in Bruce Almighty The Sequel. :)
Nice one Kevin
@ReyMercedCUL Thanks for the encouragement Rey, much appreciated.
It's hard but I found it
Very good
Thank you.
When this little weiner is not imitating dinosaurs, he's imitating dirt bikes. He sure has his passions.
Your content is excellent. Would you happen to know why you don't get subscribed views to the channel? For what does not grow. For example..... 1 Video on page off page, not SEO. 2 Thumbnails of the video are not good, and no eye-catching. The most important is the thumbnail which makes the audience is attractive and increases the views of the video. 3. The video title description is not SEO-friendly. This is not SEO. 4 No tags are used in the video. For which the audience will find it easily if you use tags in the video by ranking the video. 5 Timestamp not added. 6 Call to action button not added 7 hashtags are not added. Which CZcams recommends. Solving these will surely grow the channel. If these are not fixed, the channel will not grow.
Hi Ruhul, thank you very much for your thoughtful suggestions. I am very much a rookie at this and learning as I go. I know that I have much to improve and I will definitely take your suggestions into account going forward. Thanks again for your very constructive critique of the video. Thanks, Kevin
@@CoozeAdventures If you need any help, I will help you
Thank you very much for that offer. BTW, what is the name of your channel on YT? I followed your link above, but it is empty!
So beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very interesting! I didn't know that.
I found out after asking many people that most don't know. Nobody that I asked knew about what the festa was celebrating. For more information on the story of the festa, the why of the festa, have a look at the long form video, E009 Festa At Santa Barbara.
Love the beach! I use to body surf but not board surfing. I am a professional artist and I share my paintings on CZcams. Cheers on a Thursday!
I had never heard of the concept of body surfing before, so I took to the second largest search engine in the world, CZcams. Very intriguing. You must be a very strong swimmer to do this!
I wasn't that great at it but it was fun!
I thought corn origins was in the AMERICAS(MEXICO) and Cristopher Columbus wasnt born yet that means Mexicans discovered Portugal or someone didnt do their homework
I'm not sure if I understand the point of your comment. Did I say something in the video suggesting that corn originated in the Azores? Please let me know. :)
9:50 ships arrived with wheat and corn CORN AND THE AZORES didnt exist in 14th century EUROPE@@CoozeAdventures
Well, it appears that you may be correct. I was reading this information from a document that I found on www.hynesdes.org, apparently hosted by a group of Portuguese, I believe, residing in California. I did not fact check their information, but rather, assumed that they knew what they were talking about. I could not find collaborating evidence of their story, and did not think it necessary to dive deeper than that. Was the ship bringing corn to Isabella's people? I don't know. It was being presented as a miracle which served as the basis for her sainthood, so who is to say? I will say this. It would not be the most fantastic of miracles claimed as fact to support some other venerated figures into sainthood. From a natural perspective, one could potentially deny the basis for most if not all who have been elevated as saint. After all, we are speaking of the supernatural, which by definition, cannot be explained in a natural sense.
One of my favourites subjects in the azores when i left more than 50 years ago@@CoozeAdventures
Where did you live in the Azores, and what was your favorite subject?
Very nice..😊
Thank you.

Thank you very much!
Hi Kevin. Very nice video showing the Festas in Santa Barbara. Very interesting history. Thank you for your efforts and sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful video!
Thanks Zach.
In Jamaica, they call them sleeping policeman
Well, I can see that Jamaicans have a good sense of humor also.
Hi Kevin. Very unfortunate accident and the details following with your recoveries. Nice to hear of some of your other stories of better moments on Sao Miguel.
Hi John, For the most part, my memories of Sao Miguel are very positive. You could say that the positive experiences have far overshadowed that bad one. We continue to go there whenever we can and enjoy the beauty of the place whenever occasion arises. You are right, the accident was very unfortunate but it has become a forgotten detail of our distant past. We both fully recovered, so you could say that this is the most important consideration.
That lump we call quebra molas
Hi Sergio, I'm guessing 'quebra molas' is the proper name for the speedbumps. But have you hear of the nickname that my friend suggested? Policia detado?
Sergio, I talked to my brother-in-law and he helped me understand quebra molas. I now understand that you are adding to the speedbump humor. I think this nickname is for the drivers who refuse to slow down for the speedbumps, and are willing to break the suspension in their cars. :) quebra molas = suspension breakers, correct?
no i haven't@@CoozeAdventures
Spelling Correction: Policia deitado, confirmed by another friend of mine who is from Aveiro, mainland Portugal. Maybe that's the nickname they use on the continent.

Nicely done. What a beautiful and so interesting place.
Many thanks!
Very enjoyable video. All the video footage was interesting and spot on for this type of presentation. Your narration was controlled and added immensely to the presentation. Also, the variety of scenes that were video taped gave the presentation added depth and interest. Music selections were good and varied which added another professional touch. Great job Kevin.
Thank you so much for such a thorough review. Very much appreciated. Although I strive to do the best job I can, I also realize that I am still early in the learning process of creating videos, so there is much more for me to learn still. Thank you for your confidence, and I hope I do not disappoint in videos to come.
You are off to a very good start Kevin.
It’s a really good video. For a guy who’s never been to Portugal, your videos give a good idea of how’s the weather and people is the city. I’m sure this video will help other viewers decide if they wanna visit Portugal or not.
Portugal is very diverse, especially between the islands and continental Portugal. There is beauty in the land and the people wherever you look. My biggest hope is that I have captured that beauty in my videos sufficiently such that they will help you make a good decision to visit and explore the place yourself one day. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Good job Kevin & Lucy! Yes, I remember some parts of the beautiful Ponta Delgada. I hope to re visit soon.
You should! We hope to be back there soon also.
Thank you Jerdon.
Great content! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Thank you.
Sao Miguel beaches are beautiful!❤️
Yes they are!
Is this the beach that you visited most frequently growing up on this island, Lucy? I'm thinking it probably is since it's only about a 30 minute walk from your house.
