youre an inspiration to me, my liver starting to go, 20 years hard drinking for me, been told to stop, so need my day to just start to not drink.
Nice
Thanks Dave. Helpful.
Lame!
Thanks! This helps! 😊
Thank you for your story..i spent time in the army..alcohol was everywhere..many soldiers self medicate..when i lived in Asia it was everywhere again..if you didnt drink you were seen as strange..now in my fifties i have tried to quit..and have had some withdrawals..not pleasant..to put it mildly..its scary..but absolutely legal..at least in the west..bless all who struggle with this drug.
I love the advice about starting to workout as crazy as possible each day to get all the sh*t out that's holding us back - toxins, imbalances, even the literal gut health. Quite literally speeding up alcohol detox for early sobriety but also the engagement of brain-derived-neurotropic-factor (BDNF) to rebalance and heal neurological structures in the brain as well to undeniably support sobriety and lean towards a more positive outlook from within, the strongest from within sober. Also tossing in a real tactical vitamin, magnesium-complex and fiber supplement ritual each morning. There's many kinds of magnesium supplements with different effects but I recommend the combination of glycinate (sleep/wellbeing - the go-to if I had to pick just one), malate (muscles/joints), and l-threonate (cognitive functionality). Avoid oxide and citrate.
Great video, i can relate to lots of what you’ve spoke about. I’m almost 6 weeks sober, not the first time I’ve stopped drinking, but the first time I thought I can’t moderate my drink at all, so its got to be stopped for good . I’ve just had my 50th birthday and it’s the first birthday in my adult years I’ve spent sober and it’s not too bad . My real kick up the bum was having a fatty enlarged liver - as well as being over weight - like you mentioned it doesn’t get any better as you age - drink volume increases and weight , plus you stop enjoying it as much and it becomes routine with bad hangovers, depression and anxiety . Cheers for the videos it helps to see I’m not alone on this journey . My biggest worry is the social side being sober , my whole adult social life has mainly involved drinking .
7 days sober right now and everything you have done, so have I. Just clearing my office and finding empties.......... I feel awake and alive, but I'm now craving chocolate.......
Eat all the chocolate you like
I love being sober but two or three times a year I like to get drunk..it's very enjoyable and worth the hangover.
You're not sober lol
@@jamesbyrne9312a year is 365 days He drinks two or 3 f days ! He's sober for 352 days !think about it

I've had a few day ones since October 22. The longest I've managed is 30 days, I'm getting there and it's all helped by listening to guys like you talk about it. Thank you
Thanks man, I get what you've been through and its good to look at somebody doing well
Appreciate the honesty
i love when you get with william porter
this was very appreciated. I will be listening out for more
I absolutely love this! Narcissistic relationship in a way.
This is a great video. Thank you for sharing. May I ask what you do for a living? I recently switched careers from retail to insurance. It has been a rocky transition to say the least and I am really struggling to make money with insurance. I’m 41 years old and have been married to my wife for 20 years this year. Our marriage is on the rocks and I feel that if I don’t quit drinking now I will lose everything. I’ve drank for 20 years and has been pretty bad the last few. It’s destroying my courage and drive to succeed in life. I plan on stopping this weekend and having my last drink this Saturday. I don’t want to lose everything good in my life for alcohol. I want to gain everything back and trade for one thing. Thank you for your video
I read her book, seven years sober in two and a half months!
These words are inspirational. I'm 5 days sober right now.
Just watched the video and seen your comment, how has it gone?

Hi Dave. Hope your doing well mate. Just wanted to say thanks for the videos, I’m 28 and decided I’m going to try not drinking for 100 days. However I think I’ve kind of decided if I make it that long I might just pack it in all together. I’m on day 14 now (started new year at midnight haha) So far it’s been easy but I’m waiting for the cravings to kick in when I’m out with my mates or whatever. Anyway thanks and all the best
Blimey Dave. I think we must have been seperated at birth ! Everything you said is me. litterally . Im on day 9 and struggling with cravings. Ive joined simon Chapples programme and thats good for me. Thanks for inspiring me matey . Paul.
This is an amazing video I was so touched by the story and the questions.Thank you so much
Three months sober after 38 years of alcohol and other drugs, and have faced some recent challenges, and overcome them. But they can make you feel so vulnerable. These videos are wonderful and I’ve picked up some useful tips and reframes to recharge my sober batteries. I’ve read the Grace, Carr, and Porter books. Realising that you have to keep learning and working at it. Cheers Dave!
How gorgeous is Catherine?
Absolutely love you and your story, your work and sense of humor. See you on the live 🤠
Love Sober Sessions !! So helpful to hear these background stories! Many thanks to you all !x
I loved this
So encouraged by your success. I’m determined to make my sobriety permanent this time. Thank you
Only ten mins in. But agree with it all. Dave what vitamins and minerals do you recommend
Hangsxiety!! Yes!!
Thanks Dave
Thank you, Sober Dave. So relatable.
Hope you have cut down on the booze
Such an honest account of your journey Dave - an inspirational message to those of us with much less will power! Well done for breaking the habit - I hope you are very proud of your achievement - we certainly are.
Thank you Tim, I am proud of myself as I never thought I could go a day without, so thank you for your kind words.
Lovely video - your honesty and authenticity shines through, I could listen to your story all day. I am now having the best deep sleeps of my adult life - it is the one thing I play forward - I cannot go back to the "3AM terrors" of the raging thirst, pacing around the house, mind buzzing, and the fatigue the next day - then lather, rinse and repeat. Changing my evening routine has been a game changer. Look forward to your videos and wishing you every success with your channel.

Sober Dave thanks Dave. It will officially be Monday next week, I think I was confused haha. Half way through week 3. 👍🏽💪🏽
An inspiring and jaw dropping honest story. Great to see you have your own channel and I look forward to further videos. You are one of the main sober people who I follow and inspire me - both on here and Instagram. Thank you Dave!
