Thank you for this video! We have a bought an older house in Italy and I'm learning about these tiles and roofing methods, and this video explains it very well. Fascinating about the hole to be able to tie them down to the battens.

Well, the USSR had some of the worst environmental damage, air pollution, and CO2 emission rates. In the 1980s, CO2 emissions in German Democratic Republic were almost twice that of the West German's. In modern-day Venezuela, there's barely any clean water left because of the ecological damage done by their government, plus their oil spillages are astounding. Blaming only "colonialism and capitalist practices" for ecologically damaging processes is therefore wrong and pretty misleading. Otherwise, Material Cultures are amazing at what they do, and this was really insightful! I look forward to seeing more of their projects❤
