I think it’s moreso the bitterness of their friendship having broken once before that you see him express. He’s frustrated at him for getting so wrapped up in Xemnas’ BS, sacrificing himself needlessly, and treating Roxas and Xion like crap but at the same time Saïx is a pretty clearly damaged person. I don’t think he could ever really hate him, but he hates what Isa became and that’s why Lea just screams “STOP” over and over at him during their battle. He’s fed up and he wants his friend back-not this sick parody of him wearing his skin.

@@arikatheprincessofhearts2043 Yeah, I think those could be pretty easily read into his character. From what we know of his and Saïx’s backstory, it seems like it was all pretty harrowing.

@@GO-sz1nv Yes, and I’ve been looking around other scenes as well-in the part where Saïx visits Axel at the Twilight Town clocktower, he drops some very conspicuous hints that seem to be an attempt to jog Axel’s memory about Xion, or at least prime him toward the idea of a missing person in his life between him and Roxas. Axel buys too many ice cream popsicles and Saïx makes a point of questioning why. Even in this video, you can see Saïx discouraging the use of Vexen and Demyx as vessels, instead using No. i as the final vessel. It’s a cutthroat, risky move, but it guarantees Xion a vessel and a certain degree of safety up until the final confrontation of light and darkness. In addition, the person who secretly arranged for Vexen, Ienzo (and by extension, Demyx) to procure enough vessels for “those who needed them”? That person was Saïx. That’s the reason why Demyx acts so shocked when Vexen whispers the organizer’s identity into his ear. Who would ever suspect him, of all people, to work at undermining Xemnas? Saïx was working as a mole the entire time throughout KH3 to right his past wrongs. His entire presence in the True Organization XIII is a way of atoning for his actions, especially those in 358/2 Days. The game just doesn’t really spell it out for you the way it usually does with other plot points.
