    Thank you, my problem is that the tank is full, like overflowing when I take the fuel pump out, so I wonder if by jacking up the car on the right side would help get the fuel to the other side of the car and not spill over.

    Nice! Going to take a look and see if the vert m3 is a similar set up. I've got almost 2yr old gas sitting in there and need to get it out! Thanks brother.

    I knew I could do it this way as I’ve replaced my fuel pump in the past….but I’m still glad you made this video as it helps me not feel like an idiot for not being able to siphon out the gas thru the filler 😂😅 I thought it was just me

      It should work the same no matter what model of BMW you have because it's the access and one of the only ways to get to the top side of the fuel tank along with the opposite side being the fuel tank relay and fuse. Hope this helps you issue.

      Send me more information on the car and I might be able to help you out wide-range BMWs to access the fuel tank is underneath the backseat so it's pretty similar the whole way around it's just what side the fuel tanks actually on and what said the relay is on but if you want help send me more information and I'll see what I can do and maybe passing information along to can help you out

    Hi Morgan. Great video with detailed instructions for removing fuel, however there are lots of videos on CZcams but they are all shown for the purposes of removing and replacing the fuel pump. You mention fuel filter/pump several times, but for the E46 330i there is only a fuel pump at this passenger side location under the rear seat. The fuel filter is completely separate and on the drivers or left side in the middle of the car behind a metal cover attached to the floor pan.

    • @morganhaney8147
      @morganhaney8147 Před 4 lety

      Correct! Haha after i posted i caught on .... But left it all there cause I just wanted a good video on how to siphon gas out of these European cars lol. Thank you for the msg and some info that i did not know! 😁

    • @tima4207
      @tima4207 Před 4 lety

      @@morganhaney8147 yeah, that happens to me too sometimes LOL. I replaced my fuel pump last weekend and also used a plastic cup to dump the fuel into, but let it slowly fill by crimping the fuel line with pliers. The install went well with help of your video. Went to replace the drivers side sending unit but after removing it I realized the company sent me the wrong part! However, in the 17 years of ownership my gas gauge has never really worked correctly but now it does so I am very happy. It was the level sensor on the fuel pump after all.

    If you locate the other end of the black hose that is attached to the tank (possibly under the hood somewhere) and disconnect it, and then turn on the car ignition, would gasoline start pumping out of the hose?

    • @morganhaney8147
      @morganhaney8147 Před 4 lety

      Good question, but no it would not work, at least on the modle that I have. Now I did later down the road find out that you could disconnect your fule line under the hood (Also where the fule injectors are) and could release the pressure that way, but might be more work then just popping the back seat up and having full access to the tank, and hose! It could be diffrent on other modle bmw's, but most effective and quickest method is what I like to go for. Sorry for the late response!
