An unforgettable Wedding Weekend at the University of Notre Dame

Meg and Jonathan hosted an original and beautiful wedding weekend at the University of Notre Dame in May. They got the weekend kicked off at with a Rehearsal Dinner at Foley's. Foley's is a club space on the 4th floor of O’Neill Hall, attached on the south side to Notre Dame Stadium. They hosted their wedding the following day at The Basilica of the Sacred Heart. The Basilica of the Sacred Heart is located on campus directly next to the Main Building more commonly known as the dome! The reception was hosted later that evening at Dahnke Family Ballroom. Dahnke Family Ballroom is located on campus on the 7th and 8th floor of the Duncan Student Center, attached to Notre Dame Stadium on its west side. It's the larger of the two ballrooms in the Notre Dame stadium and it's good they chose Dahnke because it was a big group!
Meg and Jonathan had a special request of us and that is to use Motown inspired music in their film. They both enjoy vintage, soul music and wanted that style to be their wedding day theme. They even booked a Motown style big band from Detroit, MI to play their reception! When considering their style choice I knew I needed to make the video aesthetic match the music aesthetic. To do this I used a handheld style approach to filming their day. This doesn't mean I always held the camera in my hands but rather than getting more smooth sweeping wide shots I went with an intimate close-up approach. I used more hands on the camera technique to give the feeling of being more personally engaged with camera and the subjects. This method paired with film effects grain and scratches produced a vintage film look the couple will love. Our best to the newlyweds! May they live happily ever after.

Matt and Jenny's Wedding at The Indianapolis Public Library
Wow, what a day! And what an amazing couple. We started the day at the Columbia Club where Deana and her bridesmaids got ready. We then did some filming alongside Navy Blue Photography at the Monument Circle with Deana despite the rain sprinkles. The ceremony was at Meridian Street UMC which is very well suited for wedding events. After their personalized vows Austin and Deana took a Gondola ride down the Canal. The Canal sits about 20 feet below street level which makes for a relaxing and romantic ride that took them right to the steps of their destination. Talk about a memorable entrance! Austin and Deana were actually one of the first couples to take advantage of the amazing new facility Canal 337 for a wedding reception. It is located at the north end of the Central Canal downtown with a commanding view of the Canal and city. Well enough talk, take a peek at their trailer film to see what I mean.
