Steph, you are such an inspiration! It's so nice to hear you talk about the same stuff I've been thinking about: I also REALLY want a dog - but much like yourself, I don't like the smell, the noise, the high energy levels and so on. Many sighthounds seem so perfectly balanced, they could be the ideal dog! I might adopt a galgo Español when we're ready for one. Not sure yet. But you're right, their looks take some getting used to. 😅 However, they are quite elegant and the fawn ones take my breath away - especially when they have a dark muzzle. 😍 Their size is something I'm a bit concerned about, though.

Theyre all so adorable! I love cardinals. Thanks for sharing. Cardinal fledglings are my favorite especially when they’re chubby and have their little cardinal crests. When I say fledglings I mean once they have left the nest, because my backyard cardinal friends that I feed every year always have several broods a year, and despite this I still never ever see where they nest, but I do however always say their babies once they leave the nest, and yeah I’m surprised you didn’t see them because I see the cardinals feeding their babies for weeks after they leave the nests and the babies are so cute at that point! They feed the babies the seeds I put out and eventually the babies learn to eat the birdfeed themselves. I don’t think they eat the sunflower seeds but they probably eat the millet and stuff. Maybe you didn’t see them when they were fledglings because they weren’t used to the feeding spot you set up. If they had got accustomed to the seed dish before they left the nest I’m willing to bet they would have felt more comfortable with the spot to feed their babies there. Last year my cardinal pair had 4 broods!

Would Flex Seal work on Oru?

Thanks Steph! We've been having the same problems with those clips. With the buckle from Etsy, are you able to tighten or lossen the strap to adjust the seat easily while you're kayaking? Or do you need to detach it from the anchor point to adjust it?

1500 bucks for a sheet of coroplast, origami-ed into a kayak seems a tad excessively overpriced to me. a 4'x10' sheet of coroplast is around a hundred bucks, so the other 1400 is for the pre-folding and some paracord huh? woof!

Just got my Beach LT Sport in black and love it so far. Your videos have taught me so much! The black didn't really get too hot, but I'm also up north. I was concerned about being visible too so guess we'll see 🤷‍♂

I have the Inlet but I bet the closed cockpit with a spray skirt and extra length of the Bay would allow you to explore much rougher water. I'll be interested in how it goes with your black kayak.

i guess they chose black as an edition because they wanted it to look great with the Orange. Not thinking it through to much. Personally i would have loved to see a Yellow edition with maybe a black or dark green seatbottom. or just collor Swapped so Mostly Orange with a White seatbottom. (though thats mainly because im dutch and we love Orange)

I'm crying...... We got a 15 year old Chihuahua, suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy. But all in all she's still in good condition, thanks to medication..... In the foreseeable future we'll face this awful moment too. There's no day I'm more afraid of 😭 Thanks for sharing this ❤

with the models you have, did you ever try to get back in from the water with absolutely no help from anything or anybody? I'm asking cause i like to kayak, jump in the water for a swim and then get back on. Getting back on with the models with the cockpit closed is easier but again, have you tried to do so with no help at all with the models you have?? thanks!!!

Being handicapped my first dog…..ex-racing Greyhound! The most perfect dog in the world. I also became a volunteer bringing Greyhounds to my part of the world for adoption. I love them so much. ❤❤❤

Where did you get the water container-thingie that you used in one of your videos to wash off the kayak before folding it up?

I’ve had 2 greyhounds over the last 15 years and both had sleep startle. Roxie, my first, actually got her mouth around my arm but didn’t chomp down. Just left a little scratch. My lesson was learned. My current greyhound is Harley who was sleeping with me on my bed when he suddenly awoke snarling, growling, baring teeth about 3 inches from my face. Really scared me so I screamed at him to get down…I kept screaming at the top of my lungs until he did get down. Gradually over the last 8 years he has stopped getting on my bed while I’m on it. However, if he senses any movement from me or thinks my time on the bed is over, he’ll growl and bark. I’ve tried to quietly get him to not do that but the only thing I’ve found that works is to firmly tell him to “shut up”. It’s rude, but effective. Other than this quirk, having Harley for the past 8 years has been one of the best highlights of my life. Love this boy so much ❤️

I just saw these today. Saw your video on the older model and was disappointed, but this looks promising. We travel so I use an Intex Challenger K1 and yes it works well actually lol. I am going to look in to getting these.

sold my big ass fishing kayak that was heavy af to carry. hated taking it out. i dont even fish!! oru is the way im going next. i rarelt yak so itll be fine for me.

Why Oru hasn’t designed a flatpack outrigger sponson system for their Bay/Coast/Beach/Haven models, i do not know. The sponsons would greatly increase stability and expand cargo space if one wants to go overnight camping. Sure, one could rig together an aftermarket accessory system, but Oru engineer/designers would do it one-step-beyond!

I lived in Tallahassee as a kid and remember swimming/canoeing in lake Bradford with gators. Now I live in the Pacific NW and have been paddling sea kayaks, including the Oru Coast XT, which I've had for 5 yrs. The thing about these longer narrow kayaks is that you need to learn to get it "on edge" - or lean the hull opposite of the direction you want to turn, which enables you to cut really sharp turns. That's the reason why your legs/knees are snug, like you're wearing the boat.

Hi Steph, I was about to buy an Oru Inlet but then I found your Channel. After watching all your Oru Videos you increased my interest in the Brand but I switched. Now I own the Lake and just added the footrest. This is exactly what I needed! My hole family uses the Kayak and we have a lot of fun. And you‘re right, it‘s an opener - every time we unfold the Oru someone has some questions. Thanks for your Videos!

Im thinkinh between the Inlet or the lake now, I have a mini schnauzer doggy, he is not a big dog, i just want to go to kayak every week in the summer, what do you think, is there any specific reason to pay way more for the inlet, and the lake have space for a small dog? I planing to use it in a clean river water. Thank you!

I absolutely love the Bay ST. I got a black one and they were kind enough to send a spray skirt which I find very useful when I’m at the beach because the water is often choppy.

Got one of these back in April and I use it at the pier where I live and I absolutely love it! You can get a spray skirt for it too, though in calm waters like that it shouldn’t be an issue. Helps at the beach.

Thank you for this steph i had to put my dog down in 2018 i was heartbroken and sad and depressed i actually suffered a broken heart from it words couldn't describe how badly it was hard for me to watch my dog be put down i could stop crying at all i cried all day and night until i fell on the floor from a broken heart i really missed my dog she was like my baby and my best friend 😢💔😭

I'm about ready to say my last goodbyes to my Molly. She was very attached to my late wife who passed 5 years ago from cancer. One of the last things she requested of me was to take good care of Molly. Of course there was no other way. I love Molly and we have bonded so very closely, and now at 74 years old, I will be completely without my only true loves. Your video on the actual euthanization of Mac was very heartwarming and I want to thank you for your heart. I'm bawling as I'm writing this, but know I will survive it. Knowing Molly will be in Heaven with Joan is a relief. Again, thank you! God Bless.
