How to change Throttle Position Sensor and Accelerator Pedal Sensor
Did you have to do any calibration of TPS or APPS? And do you think this repair would be similar on 2000 LS400?
Fuck no….my power steering is in the way.
My car died going up a hill, stuck in limp mode now. Got a code for p1121. I replaced the tps and cleaned the maf sensor still didnt fix the issue, i have the app sensor on the way hopefully it works afterwards, fingers crossed🤞🏽

@@UpYoRzzzupdate, we installed the apps and it went back into limp mode while driving 🥲, any suggestions? -Just scanned it and got code p1128 (throttle control motor lock)
It could be bad TPS. Coz it came from P1121 then now 1128. Or you have to disassemble your Throttle body and try to see whats causing the motor lock. It might need some cleaning or worst that might need to replace.
@@UpYoRzzzyeah bro im just going to replace the throttle body motor soon, I just need to order it this week. Either that or look for a throttle body and just replace the whole thing, but I replaced 2 sensors already so im just curious at this point. So what happens when you replaced everything on the throttle body and it’s still doing the same thing
Still giving you same error? If it does, new part you put in might be defective.

@@Richierich1285 If it still showing after reset, I'm think maybe your Throttle Position Sensor is bad. And as far as P1755, Shift Solenoid needs to be replace. This causing your gear not to shift.
The throttle body does not need to be removed to replace the app sensor or tps. I was curious on why there are videos out there that say to do more work then necessary. I just did it without removing the tb in less than 20 minutes.
they do it cuz of limited space to remove screws can I ask how you do it as I don't wanna take everything out
How did you get the bottom screws off. I think that’s the only reason why the whole throttle body has to come off is because no one can get to the bottom screws.
@@wsmaga I guess it depends on the exact car but mine has 4 screws, of which 3 can be removed but one is impossible.
Does APPS have a different name? My parts store says my 2002 is300 "is not equipped with one" and they dont have it under throttle body lever sensor either.

So is it better to buy a used throttle body with all the sensors or just replace the 2 sensors ?
You can go and buy a used throttle body but you don’t know the working condition of the sensors. And if they are good, how long are they gonna last? The mechanical side of the throttle body is mostly bullet proof. It’s the sensors that go bad.

@@sethtuller1922 i just fixed my GS300 today. I had the P1120/P1121 codes coming on. Replaced the APP sensor and TPS sensor and didn’t work. I replaced the IAC motor and fixed the issue for me.

There’s none. You pretty much have to do the whole process except for the replacing the other sensor. Have fun!

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. I hope you didn't have to replace any gasket. I didn't.
@@UpYoRzzz I actually didn't have to take anything off to replace the sensor. I just took the sensor off and replaced it. The only thing you can have trouble with is there is a guard around the bolts. you have to pry this a little so you can get a socket or wrench on it. took me 10 mins once I figured our the guard on the bolts. And I am no longer getting limp mode, 2 days in.
@@westparleyyeah im in limp mode rn, app sensor is on the way should be here soon. Hopefully that fixes my issue

Question. Did your lexus is300 at some point at a stop sign or red light you would give it a little gas and it wouldn't go? You would have to floor it all the way in order for the car to go. mine did this and mechanic said to replace the whole throttle body.
Yes, it's about the same issue. It does that most of the time and sometime even when it's running. You don't need the whole throttle body. I recommend have your car run the error codes. Then if you have the same error you just need to replace both sensor as shown on my video.

I am experiencing a similar issue. Pressing the accelorator and no throttle. Have to floor it to begin going. P2121 error code. The throttle motor sensor that has two bolts in front was replaced. As well as the accelorator throttle sensor connected to the cable. Car ran fine for 30 min. And issue returned. Any tips what to do next?

How did you calibrate the tps sensor?
No need to calibrate. It's plug and play
TPS is NOT plug and play. It must be calibrated between .6 and .7v with a multimeter or measured with an advanced obd scanner that can see throttle position

Hey . I have a manual is300! I have the same code p1121 Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Range/Performance Problems. (That’s what the scan says exactly). I randomly lose all power and push the gas all the way down and no power. Was this the same issue you had and which sensor should I replace (still both?) and where do I buy the replacement.
Yes. Thats the same issue I had. I had replaced both sensors in the video. No issue since then.

I got mine over at the junk yard Pick n Pull for $15. GS300 and IS300 engine are the same. If you can't find IS300 parts, look for GS300.
