A look at the third Build I am starting. A 1970 Chevy C20, we are calling Loadmaster. Another What if build. What if Chevy continued to use the Buick Powered LOADMASTER moniker trucks into the late 60s-70s. Let's take a look at what we are starting with.
New boxes to steer me in the right direction.

A Short video, Looking at our starting point for the 1971 Buick GS we call Muninn. I have owned this car and pieces of it for a long time. Now it's time to do some real work on it.

A short video to introduce the channel, and to see a couple of projects that i am working on.
The decklid with the spoiler I can see that hurting millage, but the hood?
As the hood scoops are not hooked up right now. They are just putting more air in the engine bay which is bad. also, the dead air area on the trailing edge of each scoop is creating a bit of drag compared to the skylark hood. I will defiantly be putting the GS hood and rear wing back on at some point as i just like the look better. Plus, the rear stability gains with the wing over about 70mph is worth the 1-2mpg fuel loss over the skylark unit. But that's why we try things. to see how each works for what we are using the car for. Have a great week.
HJ40.......
It's an fj. The HJ had the more rare diesel engine
I could listen to that idle all day
Me too
The 1965 Buick sport wagon with the glass roof is AMAZING! I want one! You have lots of cool projects. Thanks for showing us around.
Thanks for the great comments Kim. I plan on getting the wagon going at some point. The interior is pretty well gone. No engine or trans. Have a great week.
Good to see you and your car! I like the method of taking off the hood.
Thanks Buff. They do come off a lot smoother if you remember to take off the squirters first. Hahaha
The aero-dynamicals on the right side of the hood looked really good. You’ll have it invisible to the air in no time.
That is really interesting.
Looks canyon ferry
😎🏁👍
Nice!
Oof your poor steer box looser than my belt after dinner.
"Drive by wire" normally means electric throttle actuation. You have that on this vintage car??
Some new cars have drive by wire steering. Meaning that the column is not connected physically to the steering box, or rack. But rather with electric potentiometers and actuators. The, Haha. In the title should have given it away that is to be a reference to the fact that on old vehicles. Especially with manual steering boxes that are extremely worn. That the feeling of the wheel not being connected to the box any longer can occur.
Ravens eh…so is this getting the Buick GNX (GodNorseExperiment) treatment all blacked out? I bet those Grand National Steelies would look killer on this.
Is it a Stegosaurus because the Transmission is ancient? Can we paint it a Buick color? And add wood panelling…or hammered steel?
It probably save you a LOT time and money to just get Buick Doors to match the fender line and then spend the time adding the body line to the “bed” panels…or get a Buick wagon or sedan and and cut the line out of the quarters to add. V6 is way different! Keep them coming and Good Luck!
Buick + El Camino…is that the first T(truck)type?
Haha. I like that.
one of a kind, very cool
sounds good,
BuickSmith! Cool truck
Thank you John.
