3:44 Something I notice in the wording of defense profiles is very strange to me. It says, "Changes to a power's defense profile will not take affect [effect] until the next time is is your turn as that power. You are looking at the USSR profile and the USSR profile is not used in the SZ7 battle, because it is a UK battle. It will use the UK profile. What troubles me about the wording is it implies that the change does not take effect until your next turn as that power, which will be B1. That wording implies the G1 turn will use the old profile. I do not know why it should be like that. While I understand the necessity of an AI to control your units for your opponent while it is their turn, I think defense profiles are dumb. For example, when might you decide to lose your carrier before your fighter? You might be fighting to win and you want the extra points. You might decide to lose the fighter before the carrier if you are in a hostile zone and there is no safe place for your carrier to land. What if you have carriers in each situation and you want to handle them differently? When do you lose the bomber in a land battle? Again, you might lose it before the infantry if you are fighting to keep that territory and that one point might win the battle. When do you lose your AA gun? The order you lose your units might vary depending on the number of attackers and their chance of taking the territory. So I believe the defense profile should be final orders given to units, after deploying units - and you should have some way to combat test your defense profiles.

I saw some of the comments about the sub submerge, but I think it was due to a destroyer in the attacking fleet that prevents any sub special action including submerge

Question: Round 3, why didn't Germany take Moscow ? (with minimal resources, say 2 inf, 2 tanks, 1 fighter). They lose it back, but they get Russia's money for that turn, no? Isn't it an obvious move ?

This video was really useful in the last game I played. I'm a beginner, so the list of objectives really helped me, and I wouldn't have thought to send a fighter to defend Russia without this video. Anyways, we won as the Allies, so thanks for the strategy!

I love the format of the video, the commentary - plus you're a very rare one to do a split US strategy which i love to do. While its not a *true* split, you're using the US to do the same thing as the axis is trying to do but instead you're forcing them while using the UK and Russia to compensate this axis player wasnt a top player, the non existant pressure, the way he just allowed afrika to do nothing despite doing his best breakthrough there. He couldhave secured it and put more pressure on India+Russia from the south only criticism is how asutralia sat for too long imo. His japans started to build anything for turns LOL, let alone moving troops.

I played Axis and Allies Pacific 1940 Solo to get a feel for the rules and such. The biggest problem with a Solo game is that there are no surprises. You can't attack say a lightly defended Russian zone because when you get to Russia's turn, you'll know to place more units there.

It seems you dont really focus infantry too hard on the soviets, why is that? Wouldnt full (or nostly full) infantey builds force more infantry out of germany and slow down their mech production?

I really like the Pear Harbour method. Never thought of doing it quite like that before but it puts you way ahead of the USA in the Pacific arms race.

I'm new to the game, so I'm still learning the rules. Can fighters and bombers move over hostile territories without combat? It seems like they did in the video, but looking at the physical game rules it doesn't really say either way. Thanks!

If you can get a territory and make your IPCs 12 instead of 11. That's an entire new infantry next turn/ build.

Why on earth would you want the Russian sub to submerge? It's there to take the hit and if you're lucky, let a Brit vessel live to fight another day.

I recall another route here, anytime later in the game, assuming the likes of the USA has been successfully shipping units across the Atlantic for a long time while Japan has likewise shipped many many units ashore in Asia, Japan basically builds extra boats and retreats from Asia while advancing en mass to Alaska 20 boatloads per turn for 3 or more turns in a row, some damage to the USA Atlantic transports can ensure nobody gets to quickly come back to stop the mass entrenchment and the Western US factory from becoming a Japanese asset

A&A 1941 is a nice compact version for a quick solo game! Also - although I'm not sure the attack on Germany was carried out properly, and your continual rolling of dice into the pieces sitting on the battle board drove me insane, THANK YOU for at least showing some combat!! Almost every other A&A channel on CZcams only does static end of turn summaries and skips any actual movement or dice rolling!

My advice for Russia turn 1 is to not retreat from Ukraine until the bomber is destroyed. That bomber does serious work, definitely worth risking some tanks.

Round 2: USSR: With Germany spending so much on a fleet, why were you not wanting to attack on all fronts (Belorussa)? UK:Not sure If I would have gone for the 55% in SZ 36, was there a reason you didn't want to block SZ 35 with the Carrier and wait for the 3 fighters you were building before attempting the fleet?
