This piece was inspired by a trip to the Grand Canyon when I was a kid, though I'm not really old enough to remember much of it. The natural formations made from millions of years of erosion are fascinating and beautiful. I've also been inspired by ambient music and specifically drones lately, and I wanted to try my hand at making something with many different drones at once. The overall chord in this piece is a C Major 6/9, with each synth playing either a single note or a few notes of the chord, and they drift in and out over the course of the piece, so they are rarely all playing at the same time. This piece features the Moog Sub25 processed by Fjord Fuzz Loke, the Moog Subharmonicon, the Make Noise 0-Coast, the 4MS Ensemble Oscillator (all 3 of them being processed by Chase Bliss Generation Loss v2), the Sequential Prophet Rev2, the Waldorf Blofeld, and the Novation Peak. The whole mix is being fed through Valhalla Supermassive reverb.
