Looks great how long did it take you to build thinking about building one myself
It took around 3years from start to finish
How long did it take you to finish it looks stunning, thinking about building one myself
How can something this large be so gosh darn adorable?!
Fantastic and so fast.
Yes it's a good little engine
Where u get the lamps for this scale ?
Mj engineering
Looks good
I wish they had kits when I made mine in the 90s from M&J engineering in RIngwood 👍
Nice job did you build it
No not originally but I have rebuilt it and got it running
Just curious how much tolerance you decided to go for in your bushings given the heat from the boiler.
How much does a 2” scale Burrell engine put you back money wise ??
A steam traction world 2" burrell is over £10000 as a kit now
You can find them around for around 5000 if you are up for a bit of improvement
I have a BURRELL 2" too and I would like to know what is your reason to add a "T" at the water pump?
Hi there its for the hand pump
Lovely engine and she sounds great! I have a 1 inch Minnie but I can imagine this is easier to steam being a 2 inch. What coal are you using?
I use anthracite beans
@@markmarson1685 Arh yes I know the stuff you mean. I like the dry Welsh steam coal.
Well done Mark
Thanks for these videos
Hope you enjoy them
Where did you get the driving lamps from ?
They are from mj engineering
Where did you get the head lamps from they are awesome ?
They are lost wax castings from my engineering
How much would the cost to build
This one cost in total around £9500
Did you leave the valve cover on for a reason? Probably a bit of swarf in there now
Yes I drilled and then removed chest cover and cleaned it all up thanks for your comment 👍
I actually want one of these for my 2" allchin, I wanna do like a display thing at shows
Yes that's what I'm doing I've got a 2" scale threshing machine and this baling machine and a living van
You should hook that up to the Burrell!!
Hi Mark, I'm seriously considering building this kit from STW. I did make a start on a 2inch Ransome Sims and Jeffrey's before having problems with building the boiler to the drawings and I've lost access to a larger lathe now so I can't turn up the rear wheels. I like the fact you've made it your own by prefabricating some of the extra details. Is the postage expense or do you decide to buy the heavy modules in one go and collect from the factory?
Hi there contact stw about the kit the postage was only around £7 per kit
Is this a steam traction world model?
Yes it is
@@markmarson1685 nice, I have one of those 2"allchins from silvercreast models and I love it, theres a couple f vids that I posted on here. I love that little machine..
I have the 4inch burrell from steam traction world it's a dream
How fast can it go?
Brilliant
I don't understand people building kits and not wanting to make their own.
where to buy the drawings
What scale is it Mark and from who? Thanks
Nice work, but where to buy the 2” Burrell traction engine drawings?
Hi there you can buy drawings from mj engineering
Hey Marc, can you make a driving video when its done?? I love these 2" driving videos there's not enough of them..;)
I sure will make a video of it running on steam with me driving it when its Finnished
@@markmarson1685 awesome thanks
nice work
Sounds quite clunky? Surely it should sound smooth rather than like a Diesel engine?
This is its first run ever its crank and bearings are finger tight will run like a clock when Finnished
@@markmarson1685 I assume you’ve not used lapping paste on anything then?
hi, nice build - how come u made your own hub caps, do stw not supply them?
Yes they do supply them but they were around £100 so I made my own
If you want to make it yourself just look for woodprix. There is all you need to make it :)
I did make this myself?
Mark, two things firstly how the heck did you get your paint looking so nice and secondly you clearly have good machining skills so the next project I want you to film building your own engine, we need more traction engine build videos 😉
It's all in the preparation and just slap it on really fast then go over it with just the weight of the brush
mark marson lovely job
Hi Mark, can I ask what paints you have used?
Hi there I use upol acid 8 primer and craftmaster under coat and enamel
Excellent, I have to try and make some for my Allchin traction engine
Hi Mark, looking great look forward to more videos.
Thank you
