Cool!

One thing I often hear about wingsuiting is “how in the world can someone learn to do something that dangerous?” The answer is to start with skydiving 200 times, get the endorsement of a respected wingsuit mentor, then start wingsuiting on a student wingsuit from 13.5k feet. This means when you inevitably make a mistake (as seen here), you have some margin to figure it out and not die. Plus since you are now an experienced skydiver, you are not at all phased by jumping out of a plane, deploying a parachute, and then landing it. You just focus on the wingsuit. I also pull my parachute ridiculously early (6k feet above ground) just to be extra cautious. Subscribe to watch my wingsuit and canopy swooping progression and check my channel for full jump vids

Has anyone ever thought to wear water skis and land on water without using the parachute?
Nope! To my knowledge a water landing without a parachute has never been performed successfully. Although a wingsuit pilot did manage to “land” into a giant “cushion” of cardboard boxes which is just as impressive if not more so imo

The ladies who run the manifest office are very nice 😂
@@johnnelson4043 I’m sure they are bud, it’s just the thought of jumping in a wingsuit and rocketing towards earth 😅
Show!!!
Did 2 static line jumps back in 1995. Best adrenaline rush ever
bro, i could never, i get nervous just watching this
Do it! you think sex is fun… try skydiving

Hi, I saw your CZcams channel. Your videos are really awesome. I love it. But Some of your video isn’t optimize properly that's why you aren’t get much views on your video. Can i have your any contact to get more discuss on it..?
Hey. To be honest I’m mostly focused on growing my skydiving resume as opposed to gaining CZcams notoriety. That being said, you can reach out to johnnelsonskydiving@gmail.com . Just a forewarning, I will probably not be looking to purchase any services at this time but might be nice to have contacts for later.

Всем сквадом летим на Sosnovka military base 😂😂😂😂
Honestly the footage did not turn out as spectacular as I would've liked partially due to the fact that a 50% eclipse is not as cool as it sounds and partially because I struggled to get good shots of the eclipse under my canopy. Maybe I should have just back flown lol. Regardless this is the real partial solar eclipse over Florida on 4/8/24, recorded at about 2:45 pm
The jump wod be a rush but the wondering about . multiple parachutes tangling is a turn off🤔
just pull the cutaway and deploy your reserve
@@chicken69tenderson these canopy flocking jumps we also carry a hook knife in addition to the cutaway and reserve systems. This is so we can cut away twisted and mangled lines / canopies in an absolute worst case. But honestly the best safety thing is to not hit anyone in the first place haha
Someday if I could ever afford it I'd have to try that, I would need a change of pants and underwear waiting for me on the ground
Hey, you forgot a roll of toilet paper 😆😅🤣😂 .... I'd need a whole six pack of it, cause I'd be soiling my pants for another few hours after landing ..... even the adrenaline would be coming out of the rear end. 😆😅🤣😂
Nice. Brings back a very fond memory. "Night" O2 equipment jump from a C-130 at 24,999' over Nella Italy. Already dark on the ground and we left in sunlight. Watched the accelerated sun set into the sea behind Pisa. 2.5 min of falling into night. Miss it terribly sometimes.
That’s so awesome! Glad to evoke that memory and Thanks for sharing! Btw it’s never too late to hit up a drop zone and try recreational skydiving if you’re really missing it. Lots of older guys in the sport and even if you can’t do it yourself tandems exist!
After your 90, do you move to your rears? Wish I could see your hands, I’m bout to start messing with this stuff. I’m taking the Alter Ego course in May.
Awesome! Alter ego is the best! I don’t use my rears yet. It’s best to start learning by going straight to the toggles since they are much more responsive than the rears. This gives you some extra time to stab out hard in an emergency and some extra room for error in general. This is very important when learning swooping since it will kill you if you make a big mistake. Once you reach a certain point of experience and skill, you can add in the rears to help you plane out and finish your recovery arch without slowing down and add even more distance. It’s also worth noting that not everyone necessarily agrees but I think the best coaches do. Some people tease me for “stabbing out” but I’d rather get teased than die trying to advance too quickly. Just my opinion.
The first touch counts as your score, correct? It’s not a mini swoop comp wear you can “ski” to the bullseye?
Yes, Only the First touch counts. You also incur a penalty for coming to a final stop outside of the circle and/or for not standing up your landing. Winds were light on the ground plus it was very wet so it was hard to stand and stop on this day in particular. My 1.45 Wingloading didn’t help either. I stop within the circle but had to slide to stop in time (so I incurred a penalty for not standing up). Luckily everyone had the same issues and I still won
My knees hurt just by hearing that...
This looks easier than gta😂

Wot is roughly the terminal velicity in these suits?
Like 120 mph I think
Great,thank you
is there a technique or a proper position to have your head when you pull the canopy? that looks jarring to the neck.
Yes, he didn’t flare at all before deploying.
@@mtnman1 Students who are learning rarely flare the wingsuit. We’re focused on safe exit, navigation, and deploying without going unstable. Flaring comes with time and practice. Also Student level wingsuits are not as fast/intense as the larger, more advanced ones you usually see on CZcams.
But I should have arched a little bit and looked up to the horizon, and bent my knees. This would have slowed me down at least a little. Not a full flare but that would have been better
@@johnnelson4043 great video though and thanks for the reply. Its good to see progress in others and to watch growth in the sport of skydiving. Wingsuit is definitely an avenue id like to get to in time, but certainly appreciate you for sharing your videos and learning.
@@johnnelson4043 the most important is reflecting and learning from it. keep with it! wingsuit flying is at the top of the most fun i ever had skydiving so far - hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
Maybe he just needs to pull up and slow the f*** down before deployment 🤔
Why so early 😊😊😊
students pull high. This was 6k feet

Wow! That's got to be " insane " to do that!!! You diving down, then all the way back up!!! LOL! I sure wish I could do that!!!! 🤪 😃
Cool! The real audio; NO MUSIC!!! LET'S US HEAR AND " FEEL " WHAT IT REALLY IS LIKE TO DO THIS/THAT!!! Great video; I think I'll subscribe! 😃
This is rad! How much more hang time do you get with a wing suit?
I’m a student here so I’m only getting an extra 30-40 seconds of free fall or so. But a more advanced wingsuiter can have multiple minutes of additional free fall time
Wonderful video
Nice
