Waring, I do not recommend this. These guys were trained professionals! Some local guys decided to take out their kayaks on Potrero Valley Creek after some heavy rains. My dad and I delivered the local paper all around Lake Sherwood from the late 60s to 1989, back in the days when they'd let anybody and their Volkswagens back there.
Is it illegal? What's the problem? I hate rules.
I was told it is legal to do this and they are working with Ventura officials to rubber-stamp it.
Years ago some of my son’s friends were surfing in that water and the Police chased them out and they ran to our house to hide!

I know me also. But they made some changes under the bridge at Triunfo that would be very dangerous now. It is to slow down the water coming into the lake.

Now you can see why the surferbois used to toss in at the end of the pier to get behind the break. Of course, the city wasn’t too fond of those kinds of shenanigans. Insurance and law suits and so forth. Nowadays they just close the thing down when things get a little sporty. Great video though.
