This is what a bad rear wheel bearing on a Lincoln LS looks like
Im a little tardy to the party, but I may be having this issue, albeit the bike will turn over but not actually start, what causes the MM to suddenly start causing problems?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😍
omg put the choke on and leave it on for a bit
Will this work if I don't have a key at all
Mine is not a slow start its a never start
😁😁 I’m at work rn, can’t wait to get hom
I’m pretty sure you want to get oil to the top of the cylinders ?
"Craptastic mystery module" is right! That piece of garbage has cost me hundreds of dollars and left me stranded too many times. Thanks for posting this video. After years of hard starting my Marauder fires up the first time, every time. Now that that's fixed I need to replace my stator and rectifier because my charging system is dead. That's a separate issue, but getting this fixed is a huge load off my mind. Thanks bro! 👍🏻 Do you mind telling me where you found this solution? Was it on a forum somewhere?
What is this MMM for? And can you leave it off permanently?
The suzuki vz800 has two starter relay. one with the fuses in it (which is under the green cover in this video. That one is your usual starter solenoid and relay. The MMM is the (Starter Control relay) the yellow green wire goes to all needed auxiliary. (yellow and Black) goes to (the Starter relay, Solenoid) and white is (body ground). When performing a start the (Starter Control relay, MMM) ack has an open ground to shut all none needed auxiliary to perform the start up of the engine. Now here's the funny part (the Starter relay, Solenoid) already performing that action threw the rectifier. Resulting of poor starting condition due to too much ground. By doing the bypass the starter get is well needed voltage and the only difference now is that the fuel pump is shut off during the crank has its the MMM before that control it to stay on during crank. But for carbureted engine the gas in the carburator is more then enough for the starting procedure. After the crank all auxiliary goes back to normal power. And why this happen over time ?? because your starter is an hungry beast for power. With time has its getting older more power is needed to turn it over. (But so do everything else like the fuel pump, Cooling fan and even light).
Wow! That makes perfect sense. Thanks. 👍🏻 Any idea why this bike doesn't like starting in cold weather?
so this hack wont harm the bike in any way ? .. heard something about clutch switch etc etc
@@Ladosligese no it won't hurt the bike. It's a little more hard on the starter brush (instead of 15years before new brush maybe 10). Depending how hard you ride versus how many time you start the bike. But nothing alarming and time to time you might get a turn over of the starter. Which is nothing dangerous or neither armful. It's the starter continuing to do a couples turn to discharge itself at start-up. In all those years of having the mmm remove mine only did that twice. Because of perfect startup which mean the engine started perfectly right away and the starter discharged itself of the unwanted energy. Simple.
Wow toi just save me 100$ for a New battery. Thanks.....
This there an option to just replace it instead of cutting the wires? Anyone know the part to order? I tried finding it under Mitsuba RK-0313 Starter Relay, but can't find the part that looks like this.
I thought the same thing and searched for the part with no luck. So I permanently installed a jumper and left the plug intact. Problem solved!
I think with time you will have the sabe problem. Here you have, p/n 3189048E00
You saved me lol going to do this now on my 97
I have a 1997 marauder VZ 800 I'm workin on. Need to determine which wire in bike plug is the signal wire for fuel pump. I'm lookin to replace exorbitantly expensive OEM pump from with an aftermarket pump from Quantum but seemingly wire colors will be different and pinout is slightly different. OEM uses a 4 wire configuration and aftermarket may use only 3, 1 being power, 1 being ground and 1 being this signal wire?
Just acquired a 99 Marauder thank you so much for info...for me this is huge!
IF I EVER FIND YOU...... I"LL BUY YOU ALL THE BEERS
For the sake of really sounding stupid I need to know how I get the seat off on my 2000 Marauder. Bought the bike used has no manual and I don’t want to start prying
Joe Arena I see this is old but there’s a place where you insert the key and it releases the seat.
buy a suzuki marauder 98 that passes gasoline to the engine which is the problem thanks 👍👍
Hey, I'm having starting problems on my 99 marauder. Turn the key. No power, not the battery, don't think it's the ignition switch, main relay? Since you have a 99 marauder. Help a bro? Thank you
I have hade this startup problem several years not knowing what's The cause! Thank you! I will try this immediately
I did the bypass and it worked perfectly for about a year now it's doing the same exact thing but the module still isn't connected. it mainly does it if the bike is cold. if I leave it out in the sun to warm up it will normally start. do you have any ideas?
I just bought one of these, what is that that you're bypassing?
it's a starter relay
Hey thats great! I thought my starter was sub-par and was going to replace it. Your video show the starter "loping" with the relay in place...My Marauder does the same thing. Good cheat. Thx Josh P.
Confirmed on my '99 VZ800.
+scarybaldguy I didn't know about this and after disconnecting the fix someone did the bike wouldn't start now I know to put them back together and have it start. but right next to it I have a green connector and someone cut the wires on that and did the same thing do you know what those are or where yours are going?

Really appreciate the video!! Solved all of my bikes problems for cheap!
What happens when the starter keeps trying to fire when the keys not on the starter buttons not on and keeps trying to fire soon as I plug the positive
Your starter solenoid contacts have welded shut. There shouldn't be any voltage to the coil, but the high current copper contact plates can pit, score, etc. so they don't make good contact or sometimes weld shut.
Guy just sold me a 99 marauder real cheap because he thought it was having electrical issues due to this craptastic pos mmm, I threw out the mmm jumped the wires together and it is doing great now THANKS!!!
Jermey WAMPLER
Yes
Anyone know where the turn signal relay is located on a VS 1400? Thanks in adv. Stan
+Stan Wilhite Should have added 2004
What's the MMM ? I have a 2001 Marauder, just bought it last year with 25k on it. Nice bike.
A bit late but, Mitsuba Mystery Module.....
Just bought a low miles Suzuki Marauder with slow start problems. Previous owner put in new battery, no improvement. I watched the video, bypassed the MMM in about 5 minutes. Immediate results. Wow-great video. Starts first time every time. Thanks!
Aciu uz video Pavyko pasalinti problema kurios negalejo iveikti net du servisai
I did this now my bike won't even start what happened?
Tallon Nielsen When you say won't start please be specific. Is it turning over but not firing up or is it not turning over at all? Check to ensure that the correct two wires are crossed and making a good connection. Also while you have the cover off you might do a quick check of the fuses.
What is the MMM? I recently bought an '03 Suzuki Marauder and I am having problems with the left turn signal (I'll write a little more on that in a min.) Eventually both turn signals, the stop light, the neutral indicator and the fan (I believe, but didn't confirm) stopped working. I assumed a fuse was blown. While googling the fuse box I found this video. When I changed the fuse I noted that the MMM is gone but no one calls it by anything other than an MMM. Does anyone have the P/N or the actual name of the MMM? (Fuse has at least temporarily fixed the turn signal problem. I will report back in a few days.) Also while I was under the cover I noticed that there was a two pronged connector not hooked to anything and I couldn't find anything to hook it into. The wires are red with a black stripe and green with a blue stripe. Anybody know what that connector is for? So on to my turn signal. My left turn signal stopped working one day. My right turn signal still worked but only if I didn't use my left. If I used my left turn signal I would either have to turn off the bike (with the key) or flip the head lights to high and back to low to get the right turn signal to start working again. I thought that the switch assembly was going out so I replaced it. The problem went away for about an hour then started doing it again. Edit: My turn signal worked right up to the point where I fired up my motorcycle. Then it stopped working again. MMM stands for Mitsuba (or Mitsubishi) mystery module. Anyone know where the third unused (after the mod) wire goes? Edit 2: The MMM is actually called the Starter Control Relay. In the video he crosses the Y/G and the Y/B together. Y/G goes to the Fuel Pump and the Clutch Lever Position Switch (I didn't follow it past the Clutch Switch.) Y/B goes to the Starter Relay. The wire he leaves unused is B/W and is the negative/ground wire. B/W connects into pretty much everything. The R/B and G/Bl empty connector that I found appears to remain blank (according to the wiring diagram I found) though I find it odd that at a minimum it doesn't at have a cap or something to protect the bare metal contacts from shorting out. If you follow the wires back they go into the Ignitor. Still not sure what the Starter Control Relay does...
Joseph Stinebaugh Hey man, I was just looking for the fuse box, I checked where the battery is, also the other side, under the tank... and also is there a main fuse apart from the fuse box? I need help man Thanks
cosicawena Hi Cosicawena, If you take the left side panel (left as you are sitting on the bike) and look for a little black box with a cover, this will be your fuse panel. There should be a little diagram on the inside of the cover to show you which fuse is which and the proper amp to use (should have two spare fuses in there.) That I am aware of there is no main fuse on the Marauder.
Joseph Stinebaugh Thank you very much dude!! I'll check it today!
On the '97 Marauder, there is a main fuse. It's 30 amp. Same box, though.
Is that john blassigames car?
Did it wear the insides of the tires? Did yhe rear wheels sit crooked?please respond
My clutch cable just snapped know where I can get a new one?
TheGHOSTPlatoon did you find one?
Does anyone have any idea of the long term affect this will have on the bikes electrical system?
Two years, and easy starts, that was the long term effects I have had. Do it.
wow, thank you for showing me this!
Same thing on mine, how should I go about fixing it? I see they only sell the rear bearings and not the whole hub assembly.
yeah, marauderblue is a smart guy :)
Just did this has anyone noticed any long term effects from not having the mmm?
Thank you Josh, You and genius, thank
for the past 3 years I've had my 2000 VZ800, it wont' start below 50 degrees. So, I would put a space heater and blanket on it just to get it to start in the morning... I'm really thankful I found this video... I just did the wiring fix you suggested now, and hopefully it fixes my cold slow start problem, I'll let you know ASAP. Regards and Thank you.
Like so many of your now fans, I too have spent countless hours trying to figure out why this POS won't start like it did when I bought it in 1997. Removed the carbs 5 times ( they did need cleaning ), replaced the battery every year ( jumping from the truck worked every time ), and recently tuned the carbs with a buddy ( also needed after removing the carbs so many times ). Still the POS always has had the rrrrslip, rrrrrrslip, rrrrpop, no start!!!! About sold it a dozen times and like other post'er, wanted to drive it off a cliff! THANKS MAN, YOU HAVE DEFINITLY PAID IT FORWARD FOR MANY RIDERS AND YEARS TO COME!!!!
Bro big thanks u are best I 4 month find problem with my vz800, a i bought many part, an today found your video a used you trick an my vz800 starting. Big thanks.
Is it works for my suzuki gs?
thank u all
Just did it. Fucking love the improvement soooooo much that every fifteen minutes or so i go into the garage and fire that bitch back up to see if this has been a dream or the reality of an end to so many years of pushstart frustration so far away from any garage. Thank you so much, brother. Thank you.
Can't wait to try this tomorrow!
