Greeks and south Italians can be rather light coloured too. Blue and Green eyes are fairly common in Greece, blonde hair (even though mostly the darkish tones of it, not the Scandinavian type) too -and there even are some natural redheads around... Greeks and south Italians are practically the same thing genetically (that is why we are always grouped together), but note that Romanians and Greeks also have many commonalities, a lot of shared history in the region and even shared identity to some extent -in the past that is (because during the Ottoman emprire poeple mostly identifiyed with their religion and Church -and Greeks and Romanians had a common one). Many Greeks immigrated and settled in Romania, for centuries -or just made their living there. Also many Greeks are of part or full Aromanian ancestry and Aromanians an Romanians are probably related people

From what i can research it seems plausible that Dacian, Thracian and Illyrian were different kingdoms in a region closely related linguistically and genetically. There's not a lot of linguistic evidence remaining. In this case the Illyrian and Thracian matches may be due to a lack of samples from contemporary Dacians with similar genetics.

The Kazakh designation is the same as what in English is also called Cossack. While it is a Kazakh Turkish word it means "free", and is applied to free horsemen (not serfs) who maintained their ancestral steppe herder lifestyle, like the Alans, Goths, Vandals and western Germanic tribes, Avars, Turkic Bulgars and Tatars, Ugric-speaking Magyar etc. and later Turkic Kazakhs.

In the iron Age what is now Kazakhstan was inhabited by what are called Eastern Iranian tribes, better called steppe Iranian, different groups of which ranged as far west as Ukraine. Sarmatian, Scythian, Sogdian etc. in the late Roman Empire they were called Alans, as their languages used /l/ instead of Persian /ri/, so Persian Arian is Sarmatian Alan. Alans co-habited eastern Europe alongside Germanic and pre-Slavic tribes from Pannonia to the Caucasus and Caspian sea. One group travelled as far as Tunisia in a confederation with the Vandals.

I also have ancient Illyrian and Pannonian ancestry but my people went in a different direction in to Austria and up to Denmark then in to England after the Roman's left Brittan...Probably with the Angles Jutes and Saxons invasions. The only way to learn your true Y-Haplogroup is by having your Brother or Father test theirs, 23andme will give it to you, I learned mine with them it's EV-13 which is unique to the Balkans, and if you want a really detailed Y-DNA with the latest mutation which you can use to really trace the father to son migration I recommend FTDNA...if you know the Y-DNA google SNP tracker and you can enter it to see the migration path...

Well I know the X is not as good for tracing a direct path you have two one from your Father and one from your Mother if you have a child only one of your X will pass on so you can't really trace back mother to daughter because it is not unbroken like the Y chromosome, I tested my mother at 23andme hoping to get both her X chromosomes but it only gave me one so I was a bit disappointed it was the same as the one I inherited, unless both her X chromosomes were the same, I'd have to contact them, but any man related to your Father would work Uncle, Male Cousin's so long as they are related by blood. In my case only knowing I had English, Irish, and Scottish ancestry I never would of thought they were originally from the Balkans and my E haplogroup is related the the Natufian peoples of the Levant one of the earliest farmers so they were Early European Farmers who came with Y Haplo T, G, and J, the most common Haplogroup in Europe is R tied to Pastoral Steppe People Indo Europeans, the Oldest Ice Age European Y Haplo is I and N is Finnic C,Q, O, P is Mongolic, Turkic, South Asian@@uncommonly_me

You mention Bjork. But surely her features are indicative of the movement of peoples from Asia across the land bridge (ice) to North America from East Asia. This young woman's Asian DNA more likely came from East to West migrations of Asian people. Thanks for the history lesson, every day is a School day as they say.

I find it funny, as there's only 2% of the Finnish DNA, according to My Heritage 🤪 there must be one ancestor who is laughing at us trying to figure out where he/she came from 🤭☺️🧬

Have you ever seen a Finn. They are the blondiest ppl in the world. Watch the video "Which country has the most blondies?" The answer is Finland. Sami ppl are different ppl with a completely different culture.

@@diamondsarenotforever8542 I said many Finnish share ancestry with the Sami people why so defensive? What does Blonde hair have to do with anything? Finnish people speak a Uralic dialect which is the same language family as the Sami...so you need to read up more clearly you are confused...

@@poemandres It is very quest ionable. Finns don't share the ancestry with Sami ppl more than other European nations. For instance I made the dna test and have 0% Siberian dna and I am a Finn. Finns have not got it more than other European nations. The rumor of the origin of the Finns is not true. Somehow these untrue tales have got out of hand.

People say Myheritage is unaccurate. I dunno, but personally my results shocked me a little. I've heard i have a walloon ancestor. But it didin't show any of it. But did show i have 13% finnish DNA which I've never heard about from my relatives. If you find the outcomes odd, Try with ancestry, people say ancestry and 23andme are the best.

Hi! I think that in my case seems kind of accurate. I uploaded my DNA to mytruancestry and i seem to have lots of coincidences in the balkan area, aswell as some more areas. Also, genomelink shows about 95% European DNA.

@@uncommonly_me That's good to hear, however personally i will try a different DNA test from ancestry. If they are similiar then i know for certain that they are correct.

Why you are 42% Italian/Greek ? What is now Romania was once part of the Roman province of Dacia. It was conquered during the reign of Trajan in 106 CE and remained under roman rule for around 170 years. As you might know, romans didn't waged war just because, once conquered the population was assimilated and romans also established them in the conquered lands.

Greek and South Italian are simply centralizations in the naming scheme, it also refers to people of Dacian and Tharacian descent, which of course, refers to pre-Roman Romanians who later took on Latin.

I've read that Ugandan scientists are studying it as your country seems to be one where sickle cell disease is more prevalent, however it will take quite a while for the treatment to be available to many people. Also, the price seems to be a concern for most countries(if not all of them)
