Pro Wrestling Spotlight Rewind Episode 4 - April 30, 1989 with Gary Michael Cappetta and Sonny Blaze
Welcome to episode 4 of Pro Wrestling Spotlight Rewind - where we look back at classic shows from the archives of John Arezzi, going back to the very early days of pro wrestling talk on the radio. On this episode - we will review show #4 show which aired on 1440 WNYG in Babylon, NY on April 30th, 1989.
The 4th show on WNYG in 1989 features the very first on air appearances by both Gary Michael Cappetta (who is the in studio guest) and Al "Broadway Sonny Blaze" Schaefer, who later became co-host of the show. Both Gary and Al review the show with us.
NOTE: As was the case in the history of PWS - technical difficulties play a part in some parts of the show from 35 years ago, and it is the case for parts of this episode of PWS Review. Gary had a very bad internet connection - and for some reason didn't hear or respond to many of the questions in the conversation. Marsh did the best he could editing it - but Gary leaves abruptly and we go right into the segment with Broadway Sonny Blaze
This episode also includes the first appearances by Larry Zbyszko and Johnny Valiant, in addition to the first commercials from L&S Comix. David from the Power Twins is in the studio and John and David celebrate their victory that took place in Amityville High School the previous Friday in John's "managerial debut".
And a suprise appearance by Sol Horenstein at the end of the show
Lots to digest here on this show
There are classic phone calls & commercials as well!

What was the name of the promotion that Mark Tendler ran in the mid 80's? I have been trying to figure this out for years! Mick Foley writes about working for him, but doesn't mention the name.

at 30:33 the Kerry Von Erich thing vs. Sal Bellomo, that was a surprise. The "Kerry" jacket convinced the audience it was Kerry Von Erich, but when the hood was pulled off it was revealed to be the Texas Tornado. Kerry died less than a month later, not two days later...the show was 1/23/1993 and Kerry died 2/18/1993

The referee in this footage is Jack Lutz, who was later the referee the night Hulk Hogan took the WWF title from The Iron Sheik. For whatever reason, WWE has no footage on the network of Blassie from his wrestling days. Because of that, the current WWE audience knows him only as a crotchety old manager with a cane. This was his last run as a wrestler for WWWF because his body was breaking down, and as a result he relied almost exclusively on biting his opponents to get heat because he could no longer take bumps. Every single one of his TV matches from this period contains blood, and most were censored by a white graphic which took up most of the screen that said 'CENSORED'.

Sorry to say I know this is horrible to do this to anyone but this is the problem with America today it takes two to tango. This woman anytime could have told McMahon to go F himself an walked away but she did not as she was to greedy for money. There something else supposedly her parents had money and lost it all and there house how did this happen. Now the rumor is they commited suicide because they were gambling it all away and owed the IRS 2 million dollars. All this stuff that McMahon knows is going to come out in court . This woman is not the little angel everyone is making her out to be. By the way every one that is,watching this you were all the people sitting with your little kids and laughing at McMahon's Kiss My Are Club. Where your kids sat there and saw McMahon's are exposed and you let it happen. You put your kids in danger so do we charge you ? You don't live In a glass house so don't act like it.

I've been reporting on these scandals that McMahon has been involved in since 1989 and the multitude of lives that have been ruined because of them is vast. You have a very warped way of analyzing this case. Do a deep dive on the pattern of behavior for the past 4 decades and educate yourself.
