An Italian Garage is a Web series of documentaries on classic Italian car manufacturers, narrated through the eyes of their collectors and restorers. Each season will deal with a single brand, each episode with a single car model.
The first season, "The Iso Rivolta Chronicles", focuses on the pioneering and unlucky brand Iso Rivolta, that gave us some of the most beautiful and inventive vehicles of the 50s and 60s.
The season is divided in 8 episodes that will be published weekly on Thursday.
Everything you see and ear - footage, soundtracks, graphics - has been independently produced by us, in an effort to higher the quality standards of CZcams productions.

I live in Texas and grew up in the sixties when this car and then the Grifo came out. They always seemed to be the ideal, with reliable American drivetrains and beautiful European design. I had a friend who owned a Facel Vega with the same hybrid setup. This is indeed a beautiful automobile!

Your story about Iso Grifo is really cool. I'm 61 years old and I have a blues Matchbox model like the one you show in this video. It was a surprise from my dear father at Christmas 1974. I love Italians Cars and I have a classic FIAT Premio 1992 here in Brazil. Congratulations, thank you.
Many years ago, I was with my two brothers in Basel Switzerland, and whe saw over their in the auction 3 Grifos..The yellow was a 7l car and the two other smal blocks. One in blue scuro and the other in light green. What a day and memorys!!

Riconosco la descrizione della guida di una Iso Isetta, la mia non l'ho mai guidata se non su e giù per la strada, dopo aver revisionato il cilindro, e l'intera strada era blu di fumo ;-). Credo che ne siano rimaste 4 nei Paesi Bassi. La mia proveniva da un italiano che l'aveva portata in Francia, dove l'ho acquistata.
Il genio italiano, unico al mondo, doveva essere soppresso, affinché l'uomo spazzatura e le cose spazzatura, potessero prevalere. Questo è uno dei tanti esempi. I padroni del mondo ci sono riusciti.

I've this feeling that for many people, interest in the grifo was sparked by that blue Matchbox-model. I also had it at a certain point (though I am much younger). To me the grifo was really the highlight of 1960s Italian motoring, with the almost incomparable balance of its shape - Bertone at its absolute best, even more so than with the more agressive looking Lamborghini miura. Given all the talent at Iso Rivolta, it's a real shame the company went under following the problems of the early 1970s.
They all have mid late 60s Corvette engine/transmissions mostly 327s but the yellow one with the pagoda hood is a 427. But someone needs to put a LS9 in one.
Oh I used to live there near Maniago at the base of the Dolomite near Venice. Anyway looks like that area.
