My nana worked an office job where she meet papa Dale after leave her ex abusive husband. They moved around to keep my mom safe from her biological dad. During this time papa Dale grew estranged to his first 2 sons from his first marriage because of how he left their mom. After a while nana and papa Dale left. Nana lived alone for many years and papa Dale married again. He left Christie and lived alone until him and nana realized they couldn’t live part from each other. They got married again in the early 2000s at the church they always went to. They both retired from the job they both meet at. And since then, nana has sense been nursing sick/dying loved ones, first her grand mother aunt rosey, then her mother, granny great, and papa Dale is currently dying from Alzheimer’s. He told us not to contact his sons until he passed. Against his wishes we couldn’t bring ourselves to hide this info from the boys, it didn’t feel right to restrict the boys from even having a chance to say their good bye’s. We ended up telling one of the boys who did forgive him and asked to tell the other. Today the other called and got his final words in to his dad. While this was going on I played this song for nana and my other grand parent. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. The whole point is that love chooses you, if you love someone enough, you’ll go through anything for them. No one is all good or all bad. Everyone is a different shade of grey. The trick is finding someone worth potting up with.
