This was easy to do, I did it on my BMW, I have never even changed my brake discs but I took this off
You is ill
from where did you brought the gaskets (seals) and oil cooler? , i am having an major leak of my coolant , first i changed the coolabt elbow , and it still leaks. My mechanic says its the oil filter which is leaking the coolant and engine oil. so i need to replace the oil filter and their gaskets
@@piyushsharma4944 I bought the cooler from BMW service centre. The seals are available at Motorpartsjunction. in
@@rsingh6438 can you help me with the part number? of the cooler. Thank you
Where can i buy these filters? Except the dealership. And if you can tell about the price?
@@piyushsharma4944 cabin filter is for about 900 rs set and external filter is for about 1700 per set. Available in boodmo.com.
@@rsingh6438 thanks you
I don’t have this piece 😖
BMW X3 328i 2014, I saw the video and don’t find this part. I can’t open the tailgate with the remote control and with the external button, only hear a “clic” HELP
Wtf
👍
THANK YOU SIR YOU SAVE ME AT LEAST 1500$
This is a temporary fix. Once the fabric coming out, most likely it will come out from all the areas so it's better to replace the whole matchng color fabric. The aproximate cost would be 15k. One challenge you might face is to find the same matching color fabric.
For x3 with panoramic sunroof, this is the only area the fabric will come out as it has a curvature upwards.
Thanks for sharing this video. How long does the job take to change the oil filter housing ? Mechanic mentioned the issue is causing my coolant reservoir to drain. Could you please verify if this is 5 hour to 9 hour job? How much should this job cost if using OEM ? Also how would you ensure there is no misfiring of cylinders given it involves shifting and removing the housing manifold..
It will take about 8 hrs. If the seal is defective, coolant will leak. Use good quality seal because you don’t open this frequently. I used earling, it cost me about 5000 for the set. Change the complete set of seal. OEM seal would be around 10000. I changed my oil cooler also as it was rusted. Clean the intake manifold as well as intake port also. There is no chance of occurring misfiring. Don’t worry about that. Happy motoring.
do you still own f25? if so then please post more videos
Thanks. Will do that.

What another dumb BMW design. Plastic caps on the front of the engine...what could go wrong? So, I have had both my 2017 430i (48k miles) and 2019 X3 (67k miles) into BMW for various reasons and during the "courtesy" vehicle inspection they found these caps leaking on both vehicles. They want to charge me about $700 per vehicle to replace. What a scam. This is a $10 part (should be a screw on never need to be replaced metal cap, but that's my opinion) and I can do this myself. I already did the 430i and you dont need to use a screwdriver to pry it out. Simply use long needle nose plyers and these will pop out with a little bit of pressure. Replacing is like R Singh shows here, push it in and then use a little adapter (I used PVC pipe piece) and a small mallet to pop it flush. Again, a lot of cars in the 2015+ range with these caps are now hitting mileage that require these to be replaced and BMW is making a boat-load of $$ for .02 cent pieces of plastic...that is why these are #1 on the "courtesy" vehicle inspections and most unwitting customers are going to pay $700 to replace.
Well said 👍
Hi, do you need to replace the o rings on the spring loaded tubes
No, I did not change them.
Only thing is when it spreads…..And you keep doing that then you now own a 1975 BMW X series 😂
Thanks for leading the way on this, Mr. Singh. Mine need doing both sides. Hope to be able to upload a video on the forthcoming adventure shortly.
All the best. 👍
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, Awesome video! Helped me a lot, thanks for sharing...
Thanks
Can you share the page where you bought the JBE, I still can't find mine. Thank you
How is this silver thing that you put on the roof after the screw called so I can buy some ?
You can search amazon for Plastic Tree Rivet. Or any local auto shop.
That is not the best way to fix the problem, that is a temporary fix
Finally see how to replace my brake light. Thank you Sing!
How did u actually remove thr JB? I have to add a linbus wire to A34*1B..pin 9...but not sure how to access it. G
Remove the glove box first. Then you’ll have access to the jbe. Remove the connectors. After that unscrew the two lock Screws.
Torque specs?
I don’t have the torque value. But I used 10 cm 1/4 ratchet handle.
What year is your X3? I have a 2013 X3 that has a crank, no start issue and I have ruled out all fuses, the ISM, and the wiring harness connections. I am thinking DME is bad, but perhaps this problem could be related to what you were seeing.
Pl do a scan to get an error code and start from there. For a diesel engine, cranking but not starting would be a problem of fuel starvation.
Nice job. I have the same engine, I notice a small leak when I park overnight, the oil is dripping around the sump drain bolt area. I check but I can't seem to find where it is coming from, I am assuming it is coming from the top since it takes a while to drip on the floor. I am not loosing oil level. Could it be the oil filter housing gasket seeping a little. Based on your experience when the oil filter housing gasket is leaking where on the bottom it is dripping from
You will find oil leak on the left side of the engine below the oil filter housing. It will fall on the bottom plastic guard and will find its way towards the opening below the drain plug. If your car is about 10 years old, then it is highly likely that the leak is from the oil filter housing.
Thanks, I will go ahead and replace the gaskets
Bmws are the worst
Dont forget that the interior upholstery was also different than compared to the exi models, and a see-through headrest
did you have to get the new jbe coded?and did you happen to hear any clicking of the relays?
Yes. When the problem starts, you’ll hear a clicking sound. You have to code JBE after replacing.
thank you@@rsingh6438
Now i can save the life span of my angel 👀eyes.
Did you have to drain the oil first? Much thanks!
No need to drain oil.
can you explain how to change the one on the other side?
The one on the other side is blocked by a metal bracket holding the ac compressor and alternater onto it, air intake, ac compressor and the support block/bracket need removing/ compressor needs to be unbolted and pulled gently to side, not for the faint hearted , big enough job doing the 2nd, left one was handy as in video, THE OTHER IS DEFINITELY NOT
I have done this job and there is just enough space to pull it out with long needle-nose pliers. I did not need to unbolt anything. You just have to fold the engine shroud (fabric?) out of the way by unclipping the 4-5 plastic clips and then there is just enough room to wiggle out the old one and pop in the new one. At least that was my experience.
Thanks bro bc really show out the sensors how it looks like👍 😊
You are simply amazing.Million thanks to you.
Thanks man.
Hello, how many Kms are on your x3? Mine is around 70,000kms and I think mine might need to be replaced.
I changed it at 100000 kms.
Change it if it is noisy.
Hi how was the quality of the light... Is there any water leaking r faded? After one year!!
No fading and no water leakage. It looks as good as new.
Brilliant.
I went ahead and replaced the sensor the other day. I got the OEM sensor for around $75. Cleared all the codes the other day. I haven't been able to drive the car too much due to the weather but keeping my fingers crossed it's all fixed. 2017 BMW X3. UPDATE: I have been driving the car for a few weeks now and the codes have not come back. Changing the sensor worked! Thanks for posting this video, it helped me diagnose the issue. Problem solved!
Если попал в салон машины то ведь проще подключить питание под капотом и открыть багажник
Did cleaning the sensor resolve the issue? Or did you have to end up replacing with a new one? I have the same fault code and will try first to clean sensor to see if this works.
Yes. The error has gone. May be some dirt somewhere. This sensor is not serviceable but always better to give it a try by cleaning before replacing.
The sensor is expensive but you can try cleaning it, I would just recommend replacing it because u will have too at some point
Do you know which fuse is for this sensor?
Very clever this is the best simple way to fix this problem
Thank you.
Great video, thanks for sharing! A shop quoted me $350 for this job but that seemed ludicrous for two plastic caps. Will DIY it!
Very simple and easy.
Sorry, I guess technically you "fixed" it, but it looks like it cost you 30 Rupees 🙊🙈
😄
Nice Video. Thanks for sharing. How is dirt blaster working? It's demo is missing in the video.
Ok. I missed that one. Will update again. Thanks
I can not hear it clear. But what did you use to clean?
I used kerosene
good job bro.
Thanks
keep making videos on Honda City VTEC. It’s a great help as I am also restoring my VTEC
Thanks
Do you know the torque of every screw?
I have the same problem in my 320 d sedan car , you have done a great job , however please provide details of screw and button size ,and also add video of drilling , which bit to be used etc Thanks
You don’t need a drill bit to make a hole. Use a pointed end screw of about 3mm dia and a screw driver. It drills a hole without any difficulty. Then push in the plastic button about 4mm dia. Both you will get in any of your local auto shop.
Great work, thank you for sharing; respect.
