Glen, I’ll never forget the day that you came to ASU to teach the HIV class - you shared your personal story and HIV status and I was struck by what you shared. There you were - Board Chair for Aunt Rita’s Foundation and a successful professional sharing the tough parts of your life. Our students were spellbound. It’s not often that our students get to have a successful person share their struggle. I was awed by the combination of your insightful honesty, openness, and humor. After the class, you said, “Why isn’t HEAL a part of the Aunt Rita’s family?” I remember responding, “There are a lot of great organizations and I don’t want HEAL to reduce their funding..”. Gently but firmly you said, “If you’re going to run a nonprofit, you’re going to have to get past that feeling.” Thanks for teaching me about leading nonprofit organizations, thank your for your leadership for Aunt Rita’s and for HEAL International, and thank you for your love and friendship over all the years. Looking forward to many more years of your light and guidance. Damien
