Have you compared the rane 72 agonist the s11? I’d like to know about your opinion. I can’t decide which one. I have owned the 72 mk2.
You're describing a $2,500 standalone player. That's not what the REV5 is. It's a controller. I'm super happy with it for the price. I bought it used for $900 and sold my other controller for $200 to upgrade so I don't really feel duped by it at all. Serato just posted the 3.2 beta with retooled software FX yesterday.

Only way to try stuff now is to go to DJ conventions like djx in Atlantic City. Now days pioneer is the only company that set things up.
how did you map deck 4 to be the sampler?
In serato, on the sampler output, select channel 4. On the rev 5, push the channel 4 button then push the sampler button. Go back to channel 3. Whenever you hit the channel 4 button it will be on sampler. You can now use the fx paddles on the sampler.

can you have stems on top 4 and hot cue on the bottom 4? trying to do a live thing between modes is tricky
You can split the pads, but I'm not sure with stems or not. But for sure, you can have hot cues up top and samples below...etc.

Stuff we dont need on a Dj mixer
Unless you're creative like me (love all these features on my s11). If you're using the S11 as just a mixer, save $2k and get a Numark Scratch. I have a video talking about it.
I like being able to switch fx without loosing the fx tail. That’s a nice improvement.

Split cue rocks
The difference with Piano Play on the DDJ-REV5, is that unlike Pitch Play or Fader Synths, its the first pad mode to utilize all 16 pads, and lays out pitched hot cues like piano. This makes it easier to play. And you have the ability to transpose it an octave up and down. So if you're familiar with a piano or keyboard, it is much easier to play melodies on it.
